Forewarning: This is an Old Head rant. I'm 45 . . . when I was comin up in high school in the early 90's, we looked up to guys like Lee Haney, Rich Gaspari, Mike Quinn, etc. We were about training. Hardcore, balls to the wall BODYBUILDING. Back then, amongst us young dudes, there weren't so many different types of trainers like today: all these hybrids of bodybuilders, powerlifters, cross fitters, fitness guys, etc. And there weren't that many supplements. Creatine came out about '93 during my freshman year in college. You get into the gym and it was about proper form and just going for it. If you had the physique, you showed it off to the girls during weight room class and after school. I am dumbfounded and speechless that a quarter century later, social media, supplement, and apparel branding has spawned these corny ass, petty little fitness gangs that beef with each other over the dumbest shit. Yeah, I know there's this person cheating this person out of a deal, etc, etc. But all of these image prima donnas trying to expose each other, it's really sad. You all are grown ass men! Act like it! Stop whining about who's fake and all of that. I know, bodybuilding in general is about image and always has been. But everyone seems to have devolved into little kids who have these petty beefs over social media like we had in junior high: So and so said this about you, and so and so said that about you. Get in the gym and promote fitness and bodybuilding! Bring back hardcore training and focus on yourself.
