In search of a Painting -Nimmalakunta -GI TAG

How many of you own a painting that is actually is a puppet , Puppetry is a form of story telling. These puppetry from India is usually conveyed the story of Popular stories of Mahabharatha and Ramayana.
During the time of Vijaynagar empire , Krishnadevaraya encouraged arts which gave raise to many art forms , of them Pupperty from Nimmalkunta is quite famous. Puppets are made from goat leather , which looks realistic in the light.
Previously Knowns as Tholu Bommalata , this art form has be preserved by this small town of Nimmalakunta from Ananthpur District have been instrumental in this transformation of this art form.
Due to decline of puppetry , this art now is a craft , where people indulge in selling the art in the form of Painting and lamps.
Was fortunate enough to visit one of the artist's house who was selling his art work and have a small video on the same.
