I have had Avantgarde Accustic Uno, Duo and Trio s that has some the same split personality with horns and traditional subwoofers. Relatively low WAF combined with compressed bas response, close but no cigar! Klipsch C-horns and Tannoy Westminster are properly the speakers I have had in house the had some WAF combined with being a true horn…. My JBL Paragon was also loved and the all-horn speaker that had the highest WAF.

The JBL Paragon! Well, your wife has a good classic taste of esthetics. They are essentially gorgeous antique furniture. How did they sound in comparison with the VOTT? I never had the chance to hear the Paragons. : (

@@realworldaudio they are quite different to a pair of the BIG Votts. The sensitivity is way lower (10-15 db) less. In short the Paragon is a life style VOTT .

I listnened to them back in the mid 90’s.. The audio salon proprietor was only playing classical piano.. But I just listened for a few minutes. It sounded quite impressive with that.. What I’d like to hear is a WE555 or a Japanese or Euro replica based cd horn system.. Even if not mounted on a WE15a, a huge Le C’leach would do..

Indeed, the WE555 is also something that I have yet to experience! Could be quite the last statement in loudspeakers. Sadly, the prices / availability are totally at the unobtanium-level.

I was eagerly waiting for this video since these speakers are somewhat close to where I live. Wanted to see if you thought they are worth it since I also lusted after these for so many years.

I was under the impression these speakers @ Sky hi fi aren't for sale. I would be interested in how many were sold? Still used?

They just posted a video on YT that they are up for sale - they were not, but now they are. They have a single pair only. : (

It was Lou's. He shared details with me in private, so I am not at liberty to disclose details. All I can tell is that it surpasses every loudspeaker execution I have seen by either commercial or experimenter application, by quite a wide margin.

@@realworldaudio There is an open baffle speaker by High Fidelity Cables. Have not heard it personally but seem interesting.

They look like they were designed by the Cheshire Cat from Alice Through the Looking Glass. I could imagine them in the court if the Queen of Hearts, dancing a jig on cabriolet legs with their mid horns turned into a menacing grin. Macabre yet enticing. This was satire not criticism 😁

Hi Alan, it was Lou's. He shared details with me in private, so I am not at liberty to disclose details. All I can tell is that it surpasses every loudspeaker execution I have seen by either commercial or experimenter application, by quite a wide margin. Even finest commercial speakers seem in comparison as a light warmup done by an amateur ;).

@@realworldaudio Not fair! Bring up a fantastic OB speaker and then just dangle it out there with no satisfying conclusion. Hopefully some day your friend will release you to spill the goods. In the mean time, how about a video on your Zenith OBs?

@@alanhuth7568 Hi Alan, fair enough! I have one video scheduled for Dec 23 on sharing my thoughts on my Zenith OB. Sadly, the fantastic OB speaker is just so fantastic and requires so much effort to create that even Peter Qvotrup and Wilson Audio would faint at the idea of making it.... so, just think about the chances for us. LOL.

Great WAF! Sorry but I don’t think so… showed the to my wife and she couldn’t spot the big difference to my VOTTs(that are truly hated).
