This is such a good movie. You really feel for her, the way she was treated by her family, just left behind and how she was used as a servant to all their needs. And when they tell her she's going to marry him, she laughs, because it can't be true can it?!? But they own her and she has no choice, she's stuck in a lifeless marriage. Absolutely horrible. I can't imagine having to live that life. And then he comes into her life and suddenly the lights are brighter, you hope that she'll manage to escape that place. To do that they do something horrific and in their guilt, they start to hate each other. And again she is in a hopeless place with no way out. Man this movie really got me in the feels. Absolutely a stunning job from the light department, the actors and the music. I would certainly watch it again and would totally recommend it.

Before judging this movie and said "the trailer is the whole movie" I prefer you to read the novel first. Its based on 'Therese Raquin' by French author Emile Zola. Zola had been described as an naturalist who observe his character like an animal in the laboratory : the way Zola wrote it make senses why they make an affair, why the couple kill Franco, etc.etc. Enjoy !

I SK well, the trailer for the hobbit doesn't spoil a major plotpoint. And what does it matter how old it is? you'll still have to stand under the assumption that alot of people watching it have never heard/ read the story before.
@imogensavage-king201210 жыл бұрын
Which major plot point doesn't the trailer for the hobbit spoil? Anyway, Therese Raquin is 150 years old give or take. The main reason to see this film is because you read and enjoy the book. If the movie has stayed close to the book then the point of the film is not about what happens but the characters reaction to it. Which isn't shown
@SuperGreenscout10 жыл бұрын
I SK sure, but still there is no good reason as to why they would spoil that information in the trailer. Or do you mean that if you don't already know what this movie is about then you shouldn't watch it?
