Thank you clarebannerman for posting this beautiful song.Peggy is the perfect singer of Sean Maccarthy songs She has the voice,interpretation and diction to allow the listener to follow the story of each piece. She sings another beauty called My Kerry Hills It would be a fitting anthem for the county.

I missed this beautiful song and singer- never knew of its existence.Hard to believe such barbarity could have taken place in my life time.I am totally disgusted by what happened and the relentless pursuit of the child 18 years later when she was snatched from her loving grandparents home and incarcerated in the Magdalen laundry prison life.What an example of Love and Charity preached but truly not practised!!!!Utterly disgusting and the shame of our land!!

Beautifully sung....Isn't it tragic the things that happened in the name of 'religion'. Is there a chance of getting the words and music of this song. I would love to sing it.

never knew the story of this lovely song, truly heart wrenching what was done to this girl, i dont think younger people realise what ireland was like when the church ruled over us, its only 2 weeks since Christine Buckley passed away, only for that brave LADY the real truth would have buried forever.
@josparkes90879 жыл бұрын
peter flynn Thank goodness the church has mercy now, and is there for anyone who needs it. It was better for this girl to have her baby than to have the baby removed by other means, which was and is a much greater sin.
