This song uses basic ukulele chords C, Amin, F and G but with a slight twist - this song is in 6/8 time! (Instead of our usual 4/4 time.) This just means there are 6 beats per measure instead of 4 and it will probably make you want to sway side to side. I hope you enjoy playing this off the beaten path song on your ukulele!

Omg this is such a lovey tutorial!!! I poured a nice glass of white wine for me and followed along. It felt like a date with a friend and I've been playing for an hour now! You're a great teacher

Thank you so much Danson. I agree, it is an emotional song. I had recently lost my grandfather when I was recording this tutorial, and I had to steel myself to not tear up during the play through. I just love this song.

Love this song, love this album, love your lesson, love your channel. Maybe you could do a lesson on let it be for people that want to practice this progression with a bit slower song.

Love this, thanks friend! Love your energy, and a big thank you for being here. I do have a chart for Let it Be in my library, but have not made a video yet - that's a good idea.

@@UkuleleWineTime I meant to just say same chords, not chord progression, but even that's a mistake! I was playing them both the other day and I realized "let it be" has that fun dm in it. They are both a lot of fun to play though! I really hope people appreciate how in depth and thought out your teaching is, amazing videos.

I've been practicing this song for about a month. I really love it and I love your tutorials....I saw Nora Jones years ago at Jones Beach on long island she was awesome. It was such a mellow concert, super relaxing. I have a hard time singing and playing at the same time but I'm working on it. ;)

Awesome to hear - thank you! ☺ 🎵 Oh man, she's fantastic, I would love to see her live. She actually went to my university (Univ. of North Texas) but was gone before I started there... she had already moved to NYC and was on her way by then. For singing & playing - try focusing on the chords first, keep it simple with downstrokes to start. Then slowly add lyrics in - and see where the chord lines up with the lyric. Let me know if you have any specific questions or challenges regarding singing & playing! ☺ 🎵

It's not an Am it's an Em
@UkuleleWineTime4 ай бұрын
In the original key of G, there is an Em chord. We are in the key of C, so the correct chord in this key would be Am. ✌

Why is it that on guitar the chords are G Em C D but for ukelele it's C Am F G? Btw beautiful voice, gave me chills 😳
@UkuleleWineTime2 жыл бұрын
Great question! The original recording is in the key of G, but I've changed the key to C here in this video so that it's a bit easier for beginner ukulele players. I just updated the description above to mention that - it's definitely important information to know! The chords would be the same for any instrument depending on the key, so I apologize if that was confusing. And thank you, you are so kind!!

@@UkuleleWineTime I was thinking that's what it was! I can play a bunch of chords and songs on guitar but I have 0 comprehension of keys or modes or anything 😭 Thank you for the explanation!
@UkuleleWineTime2 жыл бұрын
@@EdwardSnortin Totally! So whichever song you're working on, you can play the same chords on guitar/ukulele (or piano, bass, etc!). Some keys are easier on guitar, or easier on ukulele, which is why you may see varying keys out there when people give tutorials. And it's nice to be able to change the key to fit your vocal range too, if you happen to be singing and playing!
