Not a tank. That was a БМП-2 (BMP-2) IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). The difference is that these things are lighter, have less armor, usually carry a lighter, faster firing armament to engage smaller targets. IFVs are also more mobile because they have less weight.

My point was that there's no military action in mandatory military service (conscription) going on, nowhere, people just fucking around out of boredom. This is only for a case of a total war, so there is at least some people in so called "army reserves". The main defence mechanism is "mutually assured destruction" doctrine.

А в мою ратную был популярен брейк-данс и роботы. В ЗГВ помню юноша зажигал брейк... А по мисту своей службы... Помню в учебке, уже весной, в начале апреля, когда стало пригревать, чувак га боевой зоне - Таурене - забрался на ящики, среди штабелей выдвинул один и массу давил. Не дует почти, сверху греет и сержант найти не может. А я уже на втором году спал в 66-м на инструментальном ящике, прочен барахло сгреб к выходу, лето, воскресенье, меня не нашли... Взлетку в учебке помыть щетками РБХЗ, а потом "машкой" натереть, эх... У нас "Машкой" был ящик из-под вэвэ, с кирпичами. У танкистов в До́беле трак.... В Отряде ВТС "машки" не было, зато потом на втором году мытье с мылом было каждый день в наряде по роте... А массу мы давили и под кроватями в кубрике и потом в ящике под телевизором....

To share a story, when I was in "training" for an "unnamed" branch of the "military"... There was a guy in our training group who was so short he required a waiver to join. However, one day he removed all of his clothing, hid inside a locker, and waited for this guy to come back and open his locker. He then jumped out of said locker, ass naked, and proceeded to charge at the dude who promptly fell on his ass and tried to scramble backwards while screaming like he was being violated by an animal. Our small friend received an article 15 for his efforts and that story was repeated over and over for years.

@James Harding I can confirm. My cousin joined the Russian Marines (they let foreigners from NAM countries and non-nato countries except China join) and he confirmed shit like this DOES happen. The 'soap room' or whatever he called it is actually quite famous in their armed forces.
