In the Beginning: The History of the Topanga Community Club

In this documentary, Anastasia Fite and Tom Mitchell show how the Topanga Community Club (TCC) was made possible by the formation and organization of The Topanga Women's Club in 1949 and built piece by piece on weekends, through the generous volunteerism of the husbands, sons, fathers and other community volunteers related to the original Topanga Women's Club. Using archival photos and footage generously volunteered by former TCC caretaker, Lee Kelley, and the Topanga Historical Society, this film is a beautiful glimpse into true community spirit and activism. The film itself runs approximately 16 minutes and is followed here by several promotional teasers for TCC's annual 3day fundraiser: The Topanga Days Country Fair, now celebrating its 40th year.
