Hi Andrew! Something I would love to see a video on is lighting in the studio. What do you guys do for ambient/mood lighting? I myself am investigating a cheap and simple way to add lights to the back of my sound panels (self-made) to achieve a glow out from behind them. Would love an in-depth video on that topic, how it would transform the room etc. Keep up the good work! 🤘

I really like the setup! Good job, guys. But speaking of Dangerfox Desk.. I understand that you say to put your expectations longer on the desks but here’s couple thinks; first of all we pay full price for these products and if we were promised for an ETA of 8to10 weeks. I’d expect my product to arrive on time as it’s promised. If they’d be open and say that it’s going to take 6months, maybe I’d have looked for another option. But they didn’t wanna loose my business and I got mistreated with my own money? I don’t agree with it. I ordered my desk exactly 10 weeks ago and I was promised to receive the desk in 8 to 10 weeks and I didn’t hear anything from them yet also even worse is my sales rep can’t reach them out for 2 weeks now. Hopefully I won’t be in the same shoes with those guys keep commenting on social media that they didn’t receive their products over a year and something. I’d definitely wait even more than a year with no issue if my desk was Serial Number 2 sponsored :) Anyways, love your videos, Andrew. Hopefully Dangerfox will get better on communication and hire more people or find more suppliers to not make their customers hate those amazing desks even before they arrive. Peace and love!

My thoughts exactly - but in fairness, it's a desktop interface. Odd though, granted, but perhaps less so in practice - I don't know, I stay the hell away from Aardvark. audio interfaces (never mind the new Antelope name, it's the same people - trying to escape the stench of their former low quality products).

Bummer to hear, I'm new to the antelope ecosystem so I suppose I missed the big problems era. I upgraded from the apogee symphony 32/32 mkii, and before that 2 apollo x16s + x8p. Solved features and workflow that neither had. I keep waiting for all of the issues I see in some comments, but only solutions and better workflow so far. I suppose you can only hope that business grow, learn and improve on past lessons.

When you rack gear, please put in the bottom screws before the top ones. When removing from the rack, remove the tops first. Doing so very obviously removes stress on the panel.
@itsstudiotime18 күн бұрын
Thanks for the tip, i've been trying to figure it out for the last 15 years.
@PeterJensen718 күн бұрын
This also means for those economizing on rack screws, use two on the bottom rather than the top or diagonally. There are nylon-cushioned pliers that can bend back a bent ear without damaging the panel or needing to remove it, for those who didn't follow this approach and hung the unit off the top for a second.

Intended to be a reply to a deleted comment about the desk pricing being unreasonable- Two sheets of half inch laminated birch plywood is $160. Edge banding will run you another $30 or so. The time to build and finish would likely exceed 8-12 hours, depending on your tooling and skills, may take longer. Say you make $35 an hour, consider $400 in labor. This is not including trips to the hardware store, or any of the 3u racks that come included. I build a platform clone for around $300 in materials and it was not ‘fun’. Desks like this are a niche market, and the pricing is based on the competition. There are not a lot of desks out there that can compete with the form factor and functionality of this out of the box. I would like this desk for my space, as the platform is a bit too large.

I think homie deleted his comment not realizing he was talking with me. But yeah I totally agree, the biggest cost we pay is for convenience and time. Making stuff is hard and people who don’t run businesses can take for granted how much can go wrong and all of the up front investment that is required to make things. Kudos on the build.

You are not kidding. I got my Genesis 24U I think 2 years ago and it took like 8 months to get when it said 10-12 weeks originally. I had my house tore up thinking I have within 10-12 weeks but nope more like 8 months. My wife was ready to kill me and I could not start or finish my studio projects. The desk is very nice. I wish it had more support in the middle where you put your keyboard and mouse. I think it bends too much. Other than that I love the desk. I like to buy more but not sure I like that wait time.
