I haven't cried for so long, but when listening to the album, I cried like a child. This is the saddest and most impressive thing I've discovered lately. Thank you, you're a wizard.

Thank you very much. I often write my (subjectively) saddest songs without realizing it at all, just playing the notes and following instincts, not consciously trying to convey a specific feeling and not thinking much about it during the process. The song's meaning usually reveals its true self to me later, after I've forgotten about the process of making it. Sadness is the main quality that makes music meaningful and beautiful to me, so I really appreciate the comment.

I had a weird dream that made me rethink life, and this is helping me come back to that night. I cant describe it, but I remember looking up to the night sky and seeing the Milky Way galaxy and stars. I could see the night sky perfectly. It was surreal. Now I think I will work on one of my own ambient projects.

Returning once again to make a comment, I absolutely love love love your work I am a musician, very high caliber. What I’m trying to say by that is not that it takes a lot for me to be pleased but it’s nice to be pleased by somebody who is a master what they do these are expertly crafted pieces better than a lot of junk. That’s out there and there is junk, I mean it’s all relaxing and stuff but this is just a craft that requires intelligence in an understanding of the equipment and everything and just love your work my brother would love to work with you one day, but either way I still love your work

Big thanks for the comment, my friend. I've always been shy and hesitant about sharing my music, but feedback like that reminds me why I do all the hard work of finishing and releasing albums to the public. From a quick look at your videos, a collaboration between our styles could be something very special indeed. Keep in touch!

Thank you. You can see my main pedals and workflow in this rare live video of creating the song "Sky Patterns": m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHm0nGeHmrGmZpo I encourage you and everyone to experiment with all of the tools you have available, read the manuals twice, try out new pedals, buy and return things, borrow what you can, and make strange new sounds with the equipment and ideas that inspire you.

@@InTheBranchesOfficial Thanks! I listen to a lot of ambient and drone etc and I've been digging out old pedals and reverbs midi controllers and experimenting with how I can manipulate soundscapes with them - listening to your stuff has made me want to make music again, maybe even play live again!

Shane..... so what synthesizers do you like to use? Hardware or VST?
@InTheBranchesOfficial3 жыл бұрын
My creative process is usually experimental, so I rarely know exactly how a particular sound was made, let alone an entire song. But to give you a better answer, I have a Yamaha MX61. It has pretty decent sounds, but the effects pedals are what really bring it to life. Quiet Sector songs, so far, have been all made with the Yamaha MX61, Eventide H9, Strymon Volante, and Strymon BlueSky. The rest is trimming the live tracks in Adobe Audition, then mastering (also in Audition, lately).
@LoVeAmBiEnT3 жыл бұрын
@@InTheBranchesOfficial yes. Pedals are a synths best friend. Sold the timeline and got the Volante? Did the H9 replace the pitchfactor? Either way. Always sounding great.
@InTheBranchesOfficial3 жыл бұрын
@@LoVeAmBiEnT I kept my guitar rig intact -- I can't live without the TimeLine (or apparently without the PitchFactor). I still don't know how to undo a loop on the Volante, and I use that regularly in the TimeLine. All Quiet Sector songs have been made in a single take with no Undo. Lol. A few gems got ruined along the way with a single sour note, so I'll be sure to learn more about the Volante for the next round. While I prefer the TimeLine, the Volante does have the bonus of three loop speeds (half/normal/double). That can lead to some wilder stuff than usual.

@@InTheBranchesOfficial I appreciate the response to this as I had similar questions regarding your setup. I use a keeley analog compressor into a mesa boogie v-twin tube preamp into a 92 peavey bravo 112 tube amp fx loop send to ernie ball vp jr into t-rex replicator jr analog tape delay into pigtronix echolution phi analog/digital hybrid delay/modulation into walrus audio slo reverb into strymon blue sky into ehx freeze into boss rc-50 looper into fx loop return. I have a 32x16 pedaltrain classic pro with a voodoo labs mondo power supply but it's becoming too small! I think I gonna trade my pigtronix back out for a jhs panther cub v1.5 analog delay or similar to save some space and then get the chase bliss audio warped vinyl mkii and an ehx nano pog or similar
@lightwarriors77783 жыл бұрын
Any pedal suggestions you would recommend for me to try out with this setup? Was curious what drive you use. Most people don't use a tube pre amp pedal going into a tube amp like I do but it's fun to experiment and still don't know if it's what I need but just wanted those nice thick and creamy mesa tones
