We tested over a dozen different plastics and did extensive mechanical testing at different temperatures and humidity levels. This plastic is the best material we have ever tested for combination of stiffness, toughness, and all weather performance. It's also the most expensive. Material cost on lacrosse heads is fairly negligible. It would be crazy to go with something cheap to save cost. The screw and post are high grade steel. We wanted the post to be as flush with the head as possible so we made it fit into the head slightly tighter. I have never seen someone have any difficult whatsoever with catching on the Mark 2A. In my opinion, this review was preposterous.

In the video, I said that it might be a new revolutionary plastic because it feels different but its difference does not feel premium.

I definitely had the same issue with the locking jewel where it took my 40 mins of pushing it in their on my mark 2d. I also have the same concern with the plastic but I've only used it for about a month now. I've had no warping problems with it warping but I do think they made it too light for a dominant defensive head. I feel as if it would be better for an lsm. The plastic also feels very brittle and clingy. but so far this is the best head I've used and it rivals top d heads
@StringKing
@StringKing 7 жыл бұрын
Kyle Shalati you're right, the 2D came out a little lighter than we anticipated and when we got the final product we realized we could have added a few grams to beef it up even more while staying as one of the lightest D heads on the market. But we don't anticipate the plastic or warping being a big problem. We did a lot of searching for really high quality plastics and we're happy with what we settled on. Not sure why it's seeming cheap or brittle or low-quality to some people, but we expect it's on-field performance to alleviate those concerns. Making the locking bolt slightly easier to use is something we're looking into based on feedback, but it shouldn't be too tricky. You just have to make sure the head is all the way onto the shaft and the bolt is going in straight and it should slip right in there. Thanks for the feedback though! It's important to hear from real customers so we can keep getting better!

@THRONE LACROSSE Bro how does the plastic look cheap. I have this stick and it looks dope, it is a smooth and clean head w/ durable plastic that is completely worth the money. Also I have never had a catching problem w/ this stick and this is one of the best attackman heads out there. It is probably the most popular head right now, half of my team have this same head. You need to find your facts, learn to catch, and not base your whole review on your opinion before u post.

I used to really really like throne lacrosse and had a lot of respect for them. After seeing this review though it has made me very disappointed in what they are doing. What I am seeing here is someone purposely looking for invalid flaws in a head to justify a personal bias that they have. I totally respect these videos and the opinions in them but these are frankly just ridiculous

One of the top attackmen on my team took the 2A over his stallion, etc. He loves it, and he catches well with it and shoots well, he says it's the best head he's ever owned. I have a 2d, and it's the best head I've ever owned. No problems with catching or any of that, I don't see your point with the catching issue if a high school player could catch perfectly with it, it must not be the head's fault.
@prescottherbert9248

Thomas Salter amen. I have the 2a and I actually think it facilitates catching more because of the wider face shape. I stopped watching joe because of this crap review.
@wrewey

Sad attempt to put down a competitor. Catching is a problem with you, not the head. SK is killing it and you are jealous.
@TheZavvy
@TheZavvy 7 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna call bullshit on the catching issues you have. Catching is definitely more about the face shape, pocket placement and fundamentals haha. Look of the plastic also shouldn't factor into whether or not a head is elite. Phrases like "seems like" should usually be left out of a review until you test them to determine if the screw would strip or the plastic is brittle as you suggest. I also disagree at the bitching about the 29 stringing holes and I for one buy into the philosophy of the more the better, you can place pockets anywhere you want and tweak things until you get something you like. I will agree with your take on the bottom string holes, I also don't understand the point as I found the bottom holes on the Mark 1 to be very solid.
@thronelacrosse
@thronelacrosse 7 жыл бұрын
Catching has everything to do with the geometry of the head because the geometry dictates the pocket. Try to comprehend what the 3 design axes does to a flat piece of mesh when pulled in two directions. Don't think SK would be too happy if I abused the head and screw to test my concerns. So we are left with "seems like". Thank you for your feedback.
@StringKing
@StringKing 7 жыл бұрын
We don't mind at all! That's why we send heads out for reviews, so people can test them and give their opinions. We aren't asking for them back so they're yours to do with as you please. We'd much rather you put them through the ringer, abuse them, and put them through more than they'd probably go through in a game to get real results rather than "seems like" opinions. "Seems like" can be really deceiving. And when it comes to the sidewall holes, we definitely think more is better. There's absolutely some validity to the idea that more holes can be a little daunting to a new stringer, but we definitely think giving stringers and players more freedom outweighs that. Especially since uSTRING is always free online and we have a customer service line dedicated to helping people string. As far as bottom holes go, lots of people have problems with those but we don't really understand why they're such a big problem. Our prestrung Mark 1s and Mark 2s have essentially the same bottom string despite the different holes setups. But the holes on the Mark 2 lend themselves to traditional or to more creative bottom strings. But constructive criticism is how we get better!
@StringKing
@StringKing 7 жыл бұрын
Also, the channeled low pocket used in this video makes the top of the pocket really tight. That's why we don't recommend tight channels, especially for low pockets. And that's why we don't really have tight channels on uSTRING. They can look great and they have some benefit, but over-channeling can cause pretty significant problems, like the catching issues seen here.
@thronelacrosse
@thronelacrosse 7 жыл бұрын
The pocket used in the video has the same pattern as the ustring low in the Mark 2. Only differences are the first loop is up a hole, it finishes with a ji and the stringing materials.
@StringKing
@StringKing 7 жыл бұрын
Interesting, the prestrung 2A's we have here don't have much of a channel. But the point remains, if you think the tight mesh at the top is affecting your catching, we provided people with the tools they need (i.e. 29 holes, uSTRING, etc.) to make the necessary adjustments. "Preference is Everything" is an underlying theme in our second generation of products, and we highly encourage anyone to utilize the versatility of our offerings to find a head/pocket/shaft combo that works for the way they play.

My son has this head and I’ve thrown and shot with it. I disagree - I think the plastic looks very high quality like it was done on a 3d printer and not molded. Very sold feel. It’s super light and we both can throw and shoot with it with control and and accuracy. I respect your opinion and you seem to know your stuff. Good luck and nice review.
