And the mother isn't here to be held accountable for her deliberate deception of this man. the sad thing is that NOTHING is going to happen to her at all. and He STILL has to live with "going to jail for unpaid child support for a kid that wasnt his" and people KNEW but didnt want to say anything. This is disgusting!!!! the mother did all of this and she is absolved of EVERYTHING and it's up to the men to makes this better. Mr Roberts should sue the mother for the return of child support- Especially since she stated when her daughter was 7 that Mr Banks was the Father- The Mother has a responsibility to make reparations to Mr Roberts- What a terrible situation- Mr Banks also should have stepped up and requested evidence that he was the Father, basically he was a deadbeat Dad from the time he met her at age 7.

I'm sitting here crying for this young woman. When I saw the photo of her biological father's sister, I knew what the DNA report was going to say! Her bond with her legal father will most likely grow deeper. That man loves her from the bottom of his heart, and the little girl in her won't accept such a connection with anyone else. There's a huge difference between a "father" and a "daddy". Mr. Banks may be the father, but Mr. Roberts is the daddy. It's truly a blessing when a man is both.

I wish after finding out 5mths ago that my daddy isnt my father that my parents would help me. I've tried to get closure but my daddy said he did not want to discuss the past. I know he is also hurting as well but like the Judge said, the child in me is crying inside, although I am 48yrs old. I cry EVERY SINGLE DAY. If they won't help, try DNA services like 23 and ME. You can triangulate family members. If enough family members are on the service, you will have 1st cousins, siblings, and possibly your bio dad. Even if your dad isn't on there, if your dad has a small family, you may still find him through family members. It's a way to start your search when family members won't tell you or don't know.

I can relate to this young lady and the effects of the uncertainty... I am 35 years old and literally watching this today as I await my own paternity results. I found out at 13 that a man other than daddy might be my father, and my mother has gone back and forth since then with her explanation. I'm so nervous, but I'm so proud of myself for seeking the truth for myself when she didn't, and also so grateful to my daddy for being there since day one. He may or may not be my father, but he'll always be my daddy. And regardless of the results, I will be seeking counseling.

It's like this, whoever raised me- picked me up when I fell, taught me to ride a bike, and fed me all the while I was a vulnerable child, that's my parent. That parent has me when they are old and vulnerable too. It wasn't ever a waste to raise someone. My parents raised me and will never step foot in a nursing home or be hungry. When you go to court, you are asked if paternity is in question. If you say no, the court takes judicial notice of that and you are legally declared the father.

His demeanour and his wife’s response was very dignified. He just wanted to know the truth and he’s been her father so as much biologically she’s not truly his responsibility, I truly commend him for doing right by her. Mr Banks made no attempts when he was made aware so shame on him. Like most men that run from their responsibilities, another man will take on the role and do right by the child. And she even says that she trusts his wife so they have a very good relationship and I wish them the best.

The courts should make DNA testing mandatory for all children, when either of the parents or children doubt paternity and make the parents split the cost recovery.

I don't get why some women do these things. Keeping the truth from the other man & their child . That young women deserved the truth & her bio father knowing since she was so young should have done something about it. He just didn't want that responsibility seem like. Those 2 men seem to have a speech problem as well.

One thing I appreciate about Paternity Court is it vindicates what I used to tell ppl all the time as a young attorney - get the dna test as soon as the baby is born, at the hospital. Don't sign anything until after you get the results. Sue the mother for DNA test if you have to. This isn't about her feelings, it's about securing facts to protect your freedom, finances and the child's self-esteem.

@@renatalivlove75 no one would throw her in jail. The reason why the first guy got stuck with child support was because he was married to her mother when she was born, whether or not she put him on the birth certificate. The state came after Mr. Roberts for child support without checking his DNA.

On FB jasmine is still living a happy life with her children, both men are involved in her life and treat her like their own daughter, she loved them both! I pray they all can continue to love one another and be strong!
