Ruthie, you saved the day. I'm at home on the other side of the world today making the jumpsuit for my daughter who is pregnant. She loves jumpsuits and thought it would be great without a belt while she has a bump and then she can also wear it with or without when she returns to her normal size. I would consider myself an experienced sewer but that bit of the instructions that talks about rolling the fabric to do the armholes had me scratching my head. All sorted now. Your followup video about difficulty getting in and out of the jumpsuit got me thinking. I can remember in my 20s I had a jumpsuit that buttoned up the back. I wore it to a Christmas party that was on a boat and when I went to the toilet, not only did I have to unbutton the thing while the boat rocked but the door kept sliding open. all while I was feeling the effects of too much wine. I remember sitting on the toilet with one leg out straight trying to hold the door closed , clutching the front of the jumpsuit to my body so people walking past wouldn't see my semi naked body. My daughter has a partner who can help her get dressed and undressed but going to the toilet during the day could be an issue.

I’ve made this twice already. It’s an amazingly fun pattern to make.

Hi, I'm just in the middle of making this and came unstuck with the burrito method. Thanks for explaining! It looks so good on you by the way. 😍

Yes I agree the back v looks right, the front v could be lower. I wore jumpsuits in the 70s and I loved them, but now, I don’t want to wear them, ease of getting them off etc! Nice review as always Ruthie. Have a nice weekend.

Jan Di Marco haha yeah they can be a pain. This one isn’t the easiest in that department- for my next one I want to omit the zip and make sure the neckline is big enough to go over my hips. Because a jumpsuit you can’t get in and out of by yourself is even more annoying! Luckily I can just about get this one over the hips zipped up but that just makes the zip a bit pointless. Wish I’d remembered to say that in this video, thanks for reminding me!

It's referred to as 'crotch depth' and if you have curves, as women will, one has to measure and adjust. However, you look adorable and you have so much talent. Thank you for the consistently wonderful videos. You are appreciated.

yeah i came here for the burrito method... never made anything before in my life and thought this would be stright forward... til i got to the roll up part and am confused beyond words. Thank you for actually saying what the technique is called because I didn't know what the hell to google otherwise!!! i'm also sewing it by hand because I don't have a machine which does and doesn't help.

Have you thought about putting the concealed zip in the front? Much easier to get off and on!

I have all the Peppermint patterns (who can say no to free?!) but have yet to make any. Have printed out the Drawstring Shorts (by Pattern Runway), but will have to do some fiddling, as the size on that one don't go as big as I need. Seeing your jumpsuit has changed my mind about it. It looked so odd and shapeless on the model and I highly doubted it would look flattering on me. But you really pull it off. It's into the Maybe pile now.

I'm already stuck on step one :| I chose a heavier fabric and it's definitely not helping things. I'm probably going to ditch it for now and find a step by step tutorial for a different jumpsuit. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Can you do a video on how you alter the crotch for ppl with bigger butts??? thanks!!

mollymoon510 oooh good idea! Although my pattern altering techniques are a bit ‘quick and dirty’ 😂 but they work for me 👍 I might try to film the whole process of altering this pattern for my next jumpsuit...

You look super comfy and fab in this jumpsuit. Especially the bodice I like very much. Maybe I should consider this for summer. Oh and I like the black. It is like a signature colour for you. And it makes clothes look so luxurious in a way I guess. X @howling_gem
