You forgot to use it to step on the tailgate when it's in the down position. That's what it was designed for

wish you have shown with the tail gate down. it's just as hard to get your foot up to the bumper with the gate down as with it up, maybe even a little harder. the step is not just for when the gate is up. wanted to see how much the gate gets in the way of the step.
