These plants are large and gorgeous. How are they winterized please? There has to be a way to cover them etc to keep them going and become lush and large like these.

you don't have to plant in water you can take that stem and put in soil it will grow i have actually done it many times

id like to create a very dense hedge of red coleus...how far apart do i plant the seeds?...im steering away from planting a few and then thickening them since that wont be even

Not sure, but his garden looks well established. It likely depends on where you live, but you can take a cutting and treat it like a house plant. Mine grow well under a fluorescent light in the winter.
