I didn’t watch this show when it was on prime time back in 80’s and 90’s. I discovered it in syndication over the years and I LOVE it. I am especially fond of the first three seasons. I decided to get the episodes on DVD and was surprised at how expensive it was. This show and Moonlighting are very expensive to own on DVD.

I have no issues with streaming but I like owning what I really like to watch. I think that it’s wonderful that so many shows are streaming now. Shows that haven’t been aired in years are on television again. I haven’t seen Moonlighting or V on television in over 30 years. It’s so cool seeing them again…..but it never mattered to me because I owned the DVD’s. I watch what I want when I want. So the streaming services can remove shows, put them on different services, whatever. I own it and what they do doesn’t matter to me. As long as I have a dvd/Blu-ray player, electricity, the proper cables, and a television I watch what I decide to watch no matter what. I just take a few steps to my library and choose.

@@barbaralee7385 I was trying to buy their dvds back in the day but they were very limited. Only certain episodes are on the show. In the heat of the Night has their own TV Channel on streaming. It is on 24-7, on pluto and other free websites.You have also the option to watch whatever episode you like. But I'm like you where I will buy the actual DVDs but last time Ive checked there hasn't been a complete set yet.

I pretty much know every episode, word for word! Alan Autry, aka Bubba is my favorite, then Parker, and Chief Gillespie of course is the #1! I don't like how the narrator is pronouncing names wrong, it's Gillespie, not Jillespie, like the J sound, it's g like go. Petty I know but I watch the show every single day and like the names to be pronounced correctly please and thank you. I hope they never take it off the air because it's a fantabulous show, otherwise it wouldn't be on anymore! Praise to the entire cast, may the one's that are now in Heaven rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
