To provide further context for why it was cut, the song was pretty much written with Chris in mind (he apparently says "that's what's up" A LOT), and Lin figured that if other people were going to be in the role, then it didn't make much sense.

Lin explained it was because the added new songs like “when the sun goes down” and “champagne” so act 2 was too crowded, since this wasnt the most necessary to the plot, unlike the other two songs which provide an ending for the two couples.

I absolutely love "Enough", but I would've loved even more if "Hear Me Out/That's What's Up" as in the show! Perhaps, it could return in a revival?? However, I can't really imagine it being sung in any other voice other than Chris' because Lin wrote this song based off of a sort-of tick (as Lin has described it), that Chris Jackson had where he says "That's what's up" and/or "for real though."
