@@susiefairfield7218Try reading your comment u said Ron"Pig Pen" Mckernan (who was imo the best thing the Grateful Dead ever had) was the only one who covered it and it was hot. He did a great version but not nearly as good as Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels in 65 or about 100 other groups both black and white who covered it. One of THE most covered songs ever. But I get your point.😍😀

Too fast. The slower Stax groove is better.

I do love the slower groove of the hit single. But for live performance, it's all about energy, and energizing your audience. So imo the faster groove works great for a live situation like this.
