I just heard this song for the first time last night. I could so relate. The testimony that this song brought to the forefront of my mind was 11 years ago. I was renting a room out of a house where two roommates were smoking crack in their rooms. I was on disability. One night hearing them, and smelling the smells, I cried out. Father father, the only father I have ever known. I am about to fall down and there is no one here to pick me back up and dust me back off. All my money is spent for 2 weeks. So I need YOU to rise me above my situation and circumstances, or else I will fall down. I fell asleep crying and praying truest of sorrows in the night. But Joy came the next morning. I woke to a new friend calling. She said hey I’m taking my little boy outta state to stay with my parents. I have two and a half weeks left on my motel room. It’s non refundable. I don’t want it to waste. Will you use it. Bawling I said yes. She came and loaded me up at which point I broke down telling her about the crack use in the house and the prayer I fell asleep crying out praying.
