I’m 73 And was signed to straight records reprise frank zappa in 1969 and 1970. We had Melbays guitar method at 13 when I started playing. Todays kids have 1000’s of examples of technique. These guys are monsters and now I’m inspired by them. Rick I live in your town and know some of your friends. Even bought your arpeggios instuction video.

I stumbled on both of them years ago online, before they were so famous, and recognized something special in both of them. I loved the way they both honored Eddie Van Halen. What I loved even more, was Rick feeling Eddie's solo! I thought he was going to start air guitaring. That's what I did when that album came out. I still was yet to say, "I'm wanna do this! I'm gonna do this!" About a year later, I bought my first cheap Strat knock off and began my journey. I will never be able to thank you enough, Rick, for what you've done, and are doing. I will continue to play every day until I die. ❤️🙏🎸🤘

As a middle age dude i just realised something… i’m always paranoid that young musos will see me as ‘an old dude’ then i realised… i never see / saw Rick as ‘old’ and this video kind reinforces it. I may suck at guitar for now, but i'm so proud to have picked up the instrument and call myself a guitar player like these two. I couldn't believe it when I happened across this video. Two ultra virtuosos in one room discussing the finer points of guitar playing. You've had some great interviews but this one gave me the most joy...

What absolute humble guitar geniuses. To give so much credit to their predecessors like EVh is what makes them so amazing and a pleasure to listen to and for guitar players like myself to try and I mean "try" to learn a few licks from them. I've been around forever and to be alive to witness amazing players like these two youngsters is to be lucky in life.

I've watched a lot in my time, as a working guitarist, I've seen a lot. However, watching you three sit there an experience Eruption into You really got me, was genuinely one of the most relatable and beautiful moments of internet I've ever experience. Thank you so much Rick, Matteo & Mateus. So fkn amazing.

Great fun to see the reaction to Eddie's playing! But when it comes to the world's most expressive right hand technique, I wish they would have mentioned Jeff Beck, the master.

This episode has too many things to watch and watch over and over but what really bothers me now is the missing part of not having these two legend guitarists playing together at least for 5 minutes only !!! So please Rick upload that missing part as I cant wait longer :) :)
