IN THE ROUGH: SE Alaska Archery Brown Bear

Our second installment of our "In The Rough" video series. This time, we're going back to 2012 to follow Dustin Roe on an archery brown bear hunt in Southeast Alaska. With guide Ben Wohlers, they get into some awesome bear country, end up with multiple close encounters, and come away with an unforgettable experience.

I didn't see alot of meat in that pack. You didn't hunt for the fur only did you. Hope not. Thats not good hunter ethics. Meat is priority and fur is 2nd.

almost no one eats brown bear. not even the natives. meat may be your priority, but not everyone. If someone killed you, would you really care whether you were eaten?

His tag, his choice. From the Alaska Department of Fish and Wildlife: "Bear hides are prized by hunters but the meat of a brown bear is generally considered unpalatable and hunters rarely eat it."

When will the people who make hunting videos learn, that your viewers , most of whom have never even been hunting or even fired a gun prefer watching hunters with a gun. Bowhunting videos are boooooorrriiinnng!!!!

Seeing a guy get inside of 15 yards of a brown bear with a bow in his hand and the first thought in my mind is.........booooriiinnnng. I'd much rather see some heart pounding, adrenaline inducing video action of a dude dropping a brownie from 250 yards away with a rifle. Because THAT'S exciting!!!! *eye roll*

@@redpilledsupak9979 if they aren't hunters and don't understand hunting, maybe. Even rifle hunters can appreciate getting in close on animals especially dangerous game like brownies. I don't think many non-hunters are cruising youtube for hunting videos and if they are the weapon used doesn't matter. That being said there isn't anything boring about being that close to such a powerful animal and I'm sure non-hunters could agree.

Boring..??? Wtf are you watching.? Lol But everybody has their own opinion and that's yours but Dam , to be that close to this dangerous of an animal. .. I find it quite the opposite of boring.

That’s your opinion. I have never been hunting because I live in NY but plan on moving to Alaska after University to bow hunt. I specifically look for bow hunting videos over rifle videos.
