Listening to her talk about her childhood and about having everything...lacking nothing, makes you ask so what happened?.. and then the TRAUMATIC EVENTS shows up. Trauma is the gateway to ALL kinds of SUBSTANCE abuses. I pray the Lord guides this young woman Into the right direction , meet the right people, to get her trauma addressed so that she can live a full life and not exist solely for the purpose of feeding that demon. 🇿🇦

Mal, I really like how you ask similar questions during your interviews; it helps us get to know folks better. This young lady is a stark reminder that addiction can happen to anyone from any background. Thanks, Mal, for your perseverance and passion.

how is she a stark reminder that it can happen to anyone? Did you listen to her story? Her mom and dad are both drug addicts who died of drug addiction. its the classic tragedy of generational addiction. Drug addiction doesnt discriminate at all, but that statement doesnt make sence here. i feel like you just commented and didnt even listen

Lorraine, I must agree with you that these interviews are very much eye-openers. I was first introduced to this world via what I call the silent video channel of Kensington. I thought, "Who are these lost souls so completely derailed from life?" Now I know who they are and how they came to be in Kensington, courtesy of AML Films.

@@twistoffate4791 these humans are humans with problems, so sad, they so need help, where is the help they need & why are the dealers getting away with doing this, it's beyond me...... Government is at fault, in my mind. @@lorrainesutherland3271 Right? I know a detective here in the Midwest who used to arrest someone for drug possession and then demand they "order up some more" so he could go after the dealers. I was a small-time newspaper reporter then and I was really learning about the world. No one would last but a few minutes being under ANY influence in public. The way Kensington is run is a total joke. Most addicts don't want to get clean. Some do, but some never do. They need to be in court-ordered treatment for their own good. Is this pleasant? No. But if that's the only way to get an addict back up to bat in the game of life and a fresh chance, well then, it's got to be done. Just my opinion.
@lorrainesutherland32713 жыл бұрын
@@twistoffate4791 yes, we all have opinions, I usually keep mine to myself 🙄 Yes, court ordered, then what? The list goes on..... As one woman said recently, it is their choice (to go down this route) would you call it an easy choice? No not with what comes with that choice I know it wouldn't be easy, there's always a starting point, being strong, helping themselves & breaking their habitual ways of life out there Have a nice day 🙂

Kaylee, you remind me so much of myself! Your so smart, talented, and have so much to offer. I can see you are not happy living that way because you know you don't belong there. Its hard when we get into that dark place we just get stuck. Its like we become our own worst enemy in a sense and the guilt just keeps fueling the vicious cycle. Just like me, I see someone who has been used to pain...almost as if you have accepted it because it is a familiar place and happiness seems so foreign and scary.. But it doesn't have to be that way. Get out of that life and live who you were meant to be. Allow yourself to be happy and free from those chains that bind you. God bless you, the AML fam, and those currently struggling ✌❤

You still have insight and intelligence. It's not to late to get out of patterns and old habits. If you can apply that insight back into yourself and strive for your own health you can beat this. I hope you can tap the resources that are available and get out. Do it while you still have a support group. If your brother is sending you money he still cares. Your grandmother still cares about you. You can pull out of this life and maybe even help others with theirs. You talk about women in the skilled trades, you could teach or wrench or be a freaking electrician. The world is still here and so are you. Your young and able. I hope you get out and still make your mark on the world.
