Great video Paul! Yes keep trap supported away from spruce otherwise pitch will get on marten fur and if you can use a chunk of screen to protect your bait otherwise critters will eat it. Hanging set vertically is what I do. In Canada we can only use body grip for marten/fishers. Good luck!

Any marten set without a fisher exclusion device is a good fisher set.

You have the trigger jammed to the wood will it fire properly maybe flip the trigger to the top

There is a way more efficient way with almost no hassle and no bulk Buy a roll of flashing and make cones with rivets .They stack well no space . Build a cross shaped 1”x1” about 8” long each to wedge your set conibear on .Screw cross to tree wedge trap on horizontal part of cross then put bait on top of cross set cone over it . DONE Hope that helps they are fast efficient and weight nothing

Marten seem to be attracted to the leaning pole its self...I've seen them caught on leaning pole with no bait...(cause birds got it) just a passing thought.
