You might give a listen to Amira recently performing Gesu Bambino in her family church in the Netherlands. She walks in off the street with her coat still on while her father is practicing on the organ.( He is the organist for the church). Amira just sings, no microphone, no orchestra, just her singing along with her dad on the organ in the lovely acoustics of the church this lovely Italian carol. Special moment, very long legato lines subtle, specific use of vibrato. Perfection!

This song was written for Amira to commemorate her grandmother who died while Amira was creating sparks at Hollands got talent. It's a very personal song. It's a bit different to some of her other more operatic pieces. Quick suggestion. Listen to her sing Gesu Bambino, I think you'll be impressed.

I appreciate your honest reactions to Amira. She's not your normal listening material, but you still fully appreciate her voice and use of it I think you would like one if her most recent videos. It's Gesu Bambino. She's in civvys, singing informally in an empty church, her father playing the organ. It was recorded on a phone while she was visiting her dad in The Netherlands over Christmas. The acoustics in the church are great.. your reaction to that would be interesting as you know about voice and techniques etc. Just to note, there is a short video of it plus a full video.. obviously the latter is the one you want! 😊

The one time I remember Amira having to lip synch if that's what it is called was during the recording of one of her her online concerts. The song was Little Drummer Boy. Both Amira and the tenor developed very sore throats with some bug they caught and Amira managed to finish recording live all songs but that one.. As it involved the choir she lip synched it there and added her vocals days later when she had recovered. The concert was delayed release online a few days as a result. I have no idea about this song, I mean if it's lip synched or not. Either way, it's beautiful and very delicate and emotional in it's calm gentle delivery.

A couple of points Mad Musician. Firstly, did you really think she was lip-synking? If so, you’re way out of line. Amira has never lip-synced. She has an incredible ability to sing without any obvious effort, & to suggest such a thing, without specific knowledge, is insulting to Amira. Secondly, I did enjoy your reaction & you have come a long way since you started & finally, thanks for not singing.. I don’t know any subscriber/ listener that enjoys your singing when reacting to a performer, & in your case, it’s not pleasant. Cheers Graeme

First off, I won't sing for an audience, especially Amira's audience, who won't appreciate my voice, so of course I won't sing in these reaction videos (at least not anymore). Some people don't mind it and sometimes even like it when I sing in my reactions (and I'm the one monitoring all the videos and comments so I know this as a fact), others (like you all) hate it, so I'll adjust accordingly. Second, you can't be blaming me about not noticing it to be live singing when the headset is barely noticeable. If you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have seen it at all. So if you're gonna correct me, don't take it personally and say it is "insulting to Amira." I know you said that because you expect the best from her all the time since you think she is the best and you want me to feel the same way, but I don't. I don't listen to her in my free time. She's not my cup of tea, despite her other-worldly talent and voice. Point blank. Third, much of this audience that Amira has, and you're no exception considering what you've said and failed at trying to make up for, seems to be extremely unforgiving about things I say. Wanting me to stop singing? I get that. Want me to as emotionally involved in it as possible? I get that. But outside of that, many of you have an expectation of how my reactions should go and many of you just seem to fly off the handle if anything in your heads doesn't happen in my videos. If you don't like my quote-un-quote imperfections in what I say, then you can either be silently patient with me or you can go elsewhere. I'm starting to get tired of her audience feeling entitled to the perfect reaction and analysis of her singing. I will NEVER be able to do that for you. Forth and finally, I appreciate you enjoying my reaction and noticing in how far I've come. I just wish you and the rest of her biggest fans (versus the others in the comments who have been super polite) would just show that for once by being objective with your corrections and not taking it to the extremes with your own feelings.

Thanks for your lengthy but well articulated reply. I don’t expect any reactor to pander to their audience. I expect an honest & sincere reaction, whether it’s to my liking or otherwise. I also appreciate Amira’s music genre isn’t your favourite genre & it doesn’t bother me should you not feel the same as myself or other Amira fans. I certainly do not expect you to react in a way as to please your listeners. As for the lip syncing, I feel it was unnecessary for you to put it on screen in large letters, indicating that she was. I suppose it’s a matter of opinion whether it’s an insulting gesture, so we’ll agree to disagree. As for being unforgiving as to what you say, you’ve lost me. I made 3 points. 1/ lip syncing 2/ congratulated you. 3/ your singing. My post, on reflection, was probably a little pointed, for which I apologise. However, you’re being a bit thin skinned about the whole matter. Sometimes harsh criticism should be taken as constructive criticism. Anyway, we’ve both had our say , & I’ll continue to listen to any further Amira reactions should you be inclined to do so. Cheers Graeme
