You have chosen the intro music from the 70's TV series with Y. Carmicheal which I adore. Excellent narration. Thank you🎉

Unabridged auto book! Book! Unabridged! Not adaptations. Not BBC radio shows that minimize the content of a book. You Tube has lumped audio books, adapted radio shows, and videos all under “audiobooks”. What a mess for us, especially the visually impaired.

Would it be helpful to you if I created a Playlist of unabridged audiobooks as I find them?

The reading is great but far too fast. It's ok if the text is in front of you.

Thank you. I thought I had read all the Lird Peter Wimsey books, including the short stories, but this is new to me. Who is the narrator, please? Lovely, suitable voice!

No-one more exciting than myself, I'm afraid! But I thank you for the very kind words.

@Fireside Tales Your very own self? The narration is glorious! You must surely be a professional voice actor?

A lowly teacher of English, I fear - this is just a hobby I indulge in now and then. But again, you flatter me!

@Fireside Tales In that case, your pupils are most fortunate, and I hope that they appreciate that fact!

Excellent narration erudite and clear, if you’d auditioned I don’t think Edmund Petheridge would have been known in the roll.

Love your narration, but slowed it down to .75, alittle too slow but I don’t miss any ideas that way. I think when this was written, people did speak more quickly than now

The “anonymous” narrator is one of the best ever…

Agreed. Uncommonly good. Saw a comment that it was read too fast and had to add my 2 cents that the reader ought not change a thing.

The reader mispronounces bicuspid. I suppose it may be an archaic way of saying the word but Dorothy L Sayers wasn't writing *that* long ago.
@firesidetales21742 жыл бұрын
No, it's probably sheer ignorance, I'm afraid!

@Fireside Tales You have an illustrious precedent. When a lady asked Dr Johnson why he defined 'pastern' as ''a horse's knee', he famously replied, 'Ignorance, Madam, pure ignorance'!
@Donna-cc1kt Жыл бұрын
😱 omg. So if it’s an “archaic” pronunciation then this narrator is older that when Dorothy wrote this by your estimation.
