The song is about a woman saying goodbye, more or less, to her husband who committed suicide. She is telling his departed spirit that she looks forward to being reunited with him when the time comes for her to leave this life. Yes, this is very emotional stuff and that is why people were crying in the audience. It is a true story written by one of South Korea's most famous singers straight from her own life. So Hyang interprets it incredibly well. The Korean people want passion and emotion in their music and So Hyang delivers it. She is the best singer in the world, IMHO. Wait until you become familiar with her colossal body of songs. There is no one who can sing like So Hyang, whether it is in English, which she sings _flawlessly,_ or in Korean.

The lyrics to the song are so moving. It's (obviously lol) about fate, and the singer asking their lover to hold there hand and never let go when they meet again in the next life, since they cannot be together in this life. It makes me cry each time I hear it

That instrument is called geomungo from 7th century Korea...BTW harp is from Asia too!!! I am surprised you are listening this song instead of rock from Sohyang like Mona Lisa and It's Only My World!!

This is one of my favorite sohyang performances just for how emotional the song is. It's from a popular drama where the one of the lovers dies and the remaining one has hope that they will meet again in the next life/afterlife. The lyrics are very heavy and as followed: Promise me that when this moment's over and we meet again That we can put everything in the past and stand by each other This is what we call fate, it's something we can't deny Will I ever experience another day as glorious as today? Uhmmm, I Am A Singer is the name of the singing competition on TV in South Korea in 2011. Sohyang participated in 2012 in I Am A Singer 2. She was relatively unknown then. PS: This is your third reaction to Sohyang.

So, Sohyang - pronouced pretty close to just "so young" - is actually about 35 in this vid and in her early 40s now. Her best work has been on the TV shows I Am a Singer (this is from I Am a Singer 2), Immortal Songs, King of Masked Singers, and Begin Again Korea.
