This was by far one of my favorite tracks growing up, aged 10 when this belter came out and ironically was one of the first tracks I heard that got me into this genre, double ironic as it was off Bonkers 7 that I heard it from since a friend of mine at the time had a new copy of the album. fun times.

I didn't hear Bonkers 7 until I was about 17 years(2002-ish), because Brittish Hardcore wasn't exactly a thing in Sweden

Perfect tune for this period in the HHC scene. HHC got too popular and trance was just starting to really gain traction. For me, 1999 was the 'Death of Happy Hardcore'. Forever never comes and the hopeful activities in this song will be nothing more than a hopeful yet unfulfilled dream for eternity. The original sound of the Happy Hardcore genre wound up being predominantly merged with trance in an attempt to remain relevant. I personally don't consider this to be Happy Hardcore. For me, there was only one Happy Hardcore -- and it died in 1999.

Yeah. Even though "Trancecore" was already a labeled used for some of the early Freeform, it's a label you can slap onto Hixxy's Bonkers 7 mix aswell, if you ask me.

Ya, many consider 1999 to be the year Happy Hardcore died. I don't know, there were many, many happy tracks that came out throughout the 2000s, but I know the label UK Hardcore was used. If you're in the States, a lot of noobs throw the term 'Happy Hardcore' to literally anything coming out at the moment, yet have no idea of the anthems of the 90s.

This was the best track of what was a pretty disappointing bonkers, the first one to merge with trance, but they had to I guess... Trance had blown up and they were now competing with legendary euphoria for relevance in the scene and the new generation of millennium kids just wouldn't appreciate it and the bonkers team needed to make money too so they went commercial... Bonkers 8 sy in particular was outstanding. It tailed off after that into 'clubland hardcore' type nonsense. At that point I was out, bailed over to hardstyle and gabber lol
