This video inspired me to look into information about the health hazards of cracking your knuckles and she's right. The idea USED to be that it contributed to the development of arthritis, but there isn't any real evidence to support that. I also learned that someone cracked the knuckles on their left hand but not their right for 60 years, and won a (joke) award for it.

Uhh Ina-chan, when u crack fingers, the air bubbles pop and the bones move closer together, grinding against eachother "o-o

This increases risk of arthritis. Joints inflame for a long time then causes hypercellularity which causes the fingerjoints(especially in old people) to bulge out. Though its still theoretical at this point Mamanis isn’t completely wrong
@xllvr3 жыл бұрын
Actually when you crack your knuckles, it *creates* air bubbles by increasing the space between joints, not the other way around. There has been no research that has successfully linked it to arthritis, though the possibility of which is not impossible. There are other things that increase the risk of arthritis far more.
@paulthenotsogreat80323 жыл бұрын
@@xllvr uhmm no. Those popping sound are accumulated nitrogen gas being forced out due to the maneuver of popping the finger. 2nd point. its not the gas that creates the spaces between the joints.
