Inazuma Eleven 1 but it's the American dub

Back in 2014, I took a trip to the USA and bought an NTSC Nintendo 2DS to play the newly released American dub of Inazuma Eleven on the Nintendo eShop. Today, I found myself needing footage of this version for the sake of an upcoming video. But I couldn't simply not show you guys what the US dub sounds like! It's so aggro lmao, so here's a few cutscenes from Chapter 1 with the official American voices, in all of its phone camera quality.

Many to things to note here: 1. Title screen’s Inazuma Eleven being voiced by this US version Voice Actor legitimately sounds brilliant! He really did give me a promising start, and does actually keep it up. 2. The scene with all 7 of Raimon’s players all have pretty decent voice acting! I wouldn’t say it’s something out of this world, but it’s definitely acceptable. 3. I must be wrong here, but doesn’t Silvia sound EXACTLY the same as the one from the UK version? The only difference being the accent, of course. I could say the same for Tod and Jack, as well. 4. The two bullies are alright, I guess. Main reason being me not being able to rate 2 seconds of dialogue. 5. Axel BLAZING that bully with Fire Tornado here looks splendid! It seriously could be rated higher than the one from the Anime. It’s that good! 6. Axel’s Voice Actor sounds average. You can tell that he doesn’t have enough knowledge about the character, which is hindering him so very much. 7. Canonically, Axel’s hair jail is different from the one he used in Season 2 and onwards in the games universe. Pretty neat. 8. Again, Mark’s Voice Actor showing some proper fine work for the “Epilogue” of Raimon’s match against Royal Academy. It’s sad that he didn’t voice Mark in the English Anime DUB :( 9. Samford’s Voice Actor is trying way too hard to sound evil. If he just used the voice that suits Samford without trying effortlessly to seem sinister, I would’ve loved his performance. 10. Jude Sharp’s first line sounded unique and pretty good, actually. Only because the actor miraculously manages to pull off one liners of actual fitting tones for him. I dunno how I feel about his Jude voice at all. He just doesn’t really keep this up at all times, yet he does sometimes. 11. Some random student in the back genuinely has a good performance going! Don’t know why he wasn’t the voice of someone more important than filler audience. 12. From what we’ve gotten out of Joseph King’s Voice Actor seems fitting. I’m not sure if he voice him the Anime, though. Would be annoying if he didn’t, because he seems really understanding of what King’s character is. 13. THIS Fire Tornado. My god, it’s stunning! 14. Raimon’s school uniforms seem to have two VERY transparent different aesthetic changes. One is the color of it being green - possibly a lot more green with better quality - and more “bends” or “corners” to the lightning bolt on the side of the uniform. Thank you for this footage, Tale! Was really interested in hearing the Voice Actors’ work in the US version. Seems like some might be the same from the UK version but with American accents. Which’s totally fine, of course. Just kinda wish Jude wasn’t so much ‘Hit or Miss’ with his voiced lines and execution.

Can't think of anything more on the uncanny valley it's so similar but sounds so off putting like hearing a fan dub right after the official because they haven't kept up to the Japanese version or if they just replaced several main voice actors cause they want more pay so they got the boot.

This dub is remarkably less horrible than I would expect considering how some of the GO1 era dubbing choices were, color me surprised. It isn't the greatest thing or anything but it sounds good! Kinda wish the other titles also got an american dub now.

Oh God, it's not actually as bad as I thought, it's very much like your standard OTT anime dub. But at least its bearable when they say soccer in the actual English dub anime, here you just can just tell they forced replacing football with soccer in the script x_x

May I say a little fan theory? Idk of its already a thing but Kaiser, was the leader of Germany and was expected to be a military master mind, (kaiser means caeser, yes the Roman leader). So perhaps Kaiser from go was supposed to go Lunar Sea with Dodge but didn’t because of other reasons during development perhaps?

I watch all the video and I prefer the dub I've heard since I was a child, the Spanish dub, imo Spanish Mark voice sounds more enthusiastic, maybe I'm wrong and I think that because I grew up with this dub, idk. Anyway, I recommend you hear the Spanish dub, it's really nice

Can't decide which Dub version is better cuz I've grown up with the anime which I think is American Dub but I've only played the European and Japanese ones(games). But there are some moves who's names are different in the Anime and the European ver. of the game so for that 😂 I would side with the American Dub (if we're talking about the the franchise as a whole and not only about the games)

It's kinda funny how Bryce Papenbrook portrayed Axel in this version, but didn't reprise him in the Ares english dub (same with almost every character). But something that still hurts me, it's the fact that the games never got a release in Latin America, a region that really loves FOOTBALL, and both Mexican Spanish and Brazillian Portuguese dubs of the OG anime only reached episode 78. About the dub... It's not bad but it feels average, nothing horrible but nothing exceptional, at least to me, a non native english speaker.

I own the European DS release. They should've gotten the same voice cast who voiced the anime dub (which I hear was done in English speaking Asia), the English dub of the anime had WAY better voice acting than the English language version of the game!

Having widescreen and 3D is nice, but then the character models and sprites all look more out of date than the European one, so it kinda balances out. Voice acting is down to your personal preference of course. The American one does also contain a hidden glitch that the European one doesn't (more on that later)

Initially I thought it would be a translation of Inazuma Eleven 1-2-3: Endou Mamoru Densetsu, (especially bc it was released in Japan for N3DS in 2012, and this was 2014) but apparently not. This is using the 1-2-3 game engine! The text is copied from the European DS game then localised with American spellings and Soccer. But the game itself is based on IE1 from the compilation
