Was gifted an Airfix HMS Victory back in the early seventies when I was a young lad. It became an important memory to me. Thank you for posting this.

I like to share my love of these old Ships/Aircraft/tanks. A lot of these old kits are much better than the stuff that is released these days, especially from Revell. The new stuff doesnt even have good rigging instructions. Thanks for watching, more videos to come this Spring/Summer

On the Airfix 1/130 Bounty same problem with the planks. I simply painted the deck, then when dry, penciled in the plank divisions, and then weathered ove the top. Looks like the original planking of a sail ship.

Are there detail sets for plastic ships like this Airfix kit?

There are some, but there is a company called Historical Ship Models and they have a good selection of aftermarket parts here www.hismodel.com/index.php also find the model on Scalemates, most of the Aftermarket parts for kits can be found on there under the kit listing.

The real H.M.S Victory still exists here in the UK,it will have it's 259th birthday next month and can still be visited in it's full glory in Portsmouth which is the Naval capital of the UK.....

The box shows her in 1805 colours the box and stand said 1765.

Thats good to know. So then what were the 1765 colors? Ill have to do some research when my computer is up

I am making this kit now, this mold is very bad, it takes hours to make it right. I would expect this company to be both responsible and proud with the name on its back. It is a beautiful kit but it has many problems I think to make it one has to have a lot of patience and definitely not nerves.

Revell seems to have those sort of quality problems too. Good luck with the build. Ill be starting mine in the summer i think.

its a very old kit. i remember making it in 1961, as a child. it has not been re tooled, so watch out,

I noticed. The connection to the sprue gives the age of it away i think. I also wouldn't be surprised if the hull isn't warped

That is the mic built in the camera. I dont have the money to buy a lot of fancy equipment. I cant even edit any video right now cause I am waiting for a graphics card and am not even sure if that is the problem the computer is havung. If its the not then its the Mobo and that i can't replace so easily
