Wow, what a treat! I played this yesterday in our family room and my 7 year old son stood in front of the screen absolutely mesmerized! He asked me to play it over and over and finally told me he wants to take piano lessons! What an inspiration you've been to this little guy. Thank you so much. You are a true and unique talent!

A year ago, when I first got to hear Incantation, it was a wakeup call for me. Incantation not only enchanted me, it made me see things in a different way. Thus, since last year to today I have been working out to Incantation and the Art of Piano and have lost 25 kilos. Years of struggling to try to stop eating junk food and trying to lose weight to no avail and all along the secret was Incantation! Now you know why I said months ago that this is the elixir of life. Thank you David!

Absolute Perfection! I would never give David Hicken less than five stars. If I could, I'd give him ten. When anyone else is coming to the point of exhaustion, he is just getting started. There may be some as good at composing and playing as he, but no one ever was, or will be, better. I was raised by my grandmother, a piano teacher, and have taught off and own through the years...I have never seen anyone as accomplished -- a master of his craft, -- as he... He is the very best! In my opinion, no one will ever be better!

I've spent a good chunk of my life playing music informally, jamming with family and friends. I did 4 or 5 years of piano lessons as a kid but over the years I really gravitated towards guitar as that's what my dad plays and it is a great way to connect with him. Then when I met my wife, my music life more or less stopped - she had an ex in a band and "hated" musicians. This was about 10 years ago and I haven't really picked up an instrument since. I've always felt so frustrated with guitar because I cant simply just play what goes on in my head! I've got hours and hours of songs, rhythms, melodies, and bass lines in my mind I've never been able to express. Last night, I found this piece and I've had a musical awakening. I've realized I should've been playing piano this entire time. The style of this piece is everything I've ever wanted to play, it's like you've taken the music from my mind and played it for the world. David, thank you so much for this. You've given me the gift of reigniting my passion for music. I can/t wait to see where this journey takes me.

I came for "Carol of the Bells" (random search), was captivated by "Incantation" and smitten after "Deliverance"... Predictably, I now have quite a few new favorites! ✨ David's music just pulls you right in, makes you FEEL it like something tangible... The SKILL involved is mind-boggling, the DRIVE "to get it right" and the discipline to practice are both admirable and inspirational at once! And, of course, the excellent presentation only enhances the effect! Makes you feel like you are right there in the room!! The filming and editing - whoever does it - seem excellent, in both quality and timing (and only gotten better over time!) 🎥 It's luckily for us that those two talents work together! 👏

I've just discovered David Hicken today, and I have listened to lots of his videos. I love his music; I love the way he plays it, I love his style, and I love the no-nonsense endings. Beethoven wouldn't approve, but I do.

Why wouldn't Beethoven approve? I'm am genuinely interested in that, as I don't know much about (broadly-termed) classical music other than what the general sound was in various eras (Baroque vs. Romantic).

@@FlamingCockatiel Oh - it was just a reference to the long, drawn-out endings that Beethoven favoured. Have a listen to this for about a minute. kzbin.info/www/bejne/emiphXVvatqWma8 ... or Dudley Moore's piss-take on a Beethoven sonata - note particularly the end, which starts at about 3 minutes into the piece. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZLdnaR6adJ_rNk Then compare it with 4:40
