Thanks folks. I'm studying the CIMS framework here in New Zealand and this was a very helpful way to visualise the scale of incidents and how multiple agencies work together at the scene, right up to a full incident management team.

Well done. There are very minor differences demonstrated between the ICS applications in this video and the implementation seen in the San Diego County (California, USA) area. However, excellent demonstration of the interoperability of command functions, scalability of ICS and transitions from initial responders in several different responses. Excellent refresher tool. Thank you.

I can't believe I stumbled upon this year's later and shortly after Nova Scotia had the worst mass shooting in Canadian history. There is going to be some huge changed implimented at the incident command and management level months after that horrible incident. The police were ill prepared and allowed events to get far worse over those 12 hours. 23 deaths is going to not be forgotten ever. You guys royally dropped the ball.

@Phillip Mulligan: I am so sorry for your trauma. It is a very sad realization that Incident Command Systems (ICS) and emergency management always improves because of horrific incidents. I choose to believe there can be meaning to senseless and largely preventable mayhem. I was part of the ICS at the San Ysidro Macdonald's shooting in 1984. That horror became the basis for more training and exercises in ICS, MCI management and care for responders through Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). All the best as you all process your grief.
