What supports are needed to respond to diverse students?

It would be helpful if the newer curriculum was already broken down into standards-based language that is student/parent friendly. It takes HOURS for teachers to plan engaging lessons, develop criteria for measuring progress, and report on student growth. This could be greatly simplified if we had access to easily-customized examples and templates that do not cost a fortune to purchase online, because, as we all know, teachers also pay for much of the materials needed to teach students in an engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based way. These tools and materials, which are needed to reach all learners, should not come at the expense of teachers.

Increased pay and more adults (teachers) in the classroom. Otherwise you are just idealizing the classroom and overtasking an already exhausted classroom teacher. This is largely celebrated in PDP/Pro-D because you, as far as I can see, hardly ever touch on this. I happily send my kids out of the classroom because they'll actually receive support (its 30-1!). The focus on the 'quality' of the classroom is meaningless when our classroom composition's main problem is 30 kids is impossible and pedagogically unsound!

This is great but hard to follow as the background music is quite loud (I am hard of hearing and wear hearing aids and all my aids are picking up is the music). Just some feedback :) Great content though!

Imagine having your child with autism. His eye hurt with the lights, the full classroom full of stimulation sets him off. There still needs a lot of work to be done. And where did the money go? 🤷‍♀️

This is great. It makes a lot of sense but...how? What would this concretely look like? I can think of some ideas for myself like creating lessons with my less focused students at the front of my mind, for example...but you have any thoughts?

What if the difference is too significant. Like I have seen kids gets placed in grade 10 class but can barely do multiplication. Just for the sake of “inclusion”. It’s becoming unfair to the student and the other kid.

Curriculum designers need to switch from listing minimum standards that students need to reach to demonstrating a continuum that students need to be on. Preassessment could determine where each student is, curriculum creators could list activities that would move each person along the continuum. All of this is much easier said than done, but curriculum designers must use resources on the front end to make it easier for teachers in the classroom. I just discovered this channel and love it! Keep it up!
