Thank you! All your parent sponsorship videos are great! Please make one in which the family size decreases during the 3 years prior to applying. I am not sure how to show that on the application as my 2 children turned 22 within the last 3 years. I am sending the information via a letter of explanation but am not sure that is the best way to do it. Thanks again. Love the clear directions in the videos.

Thanks for the video. My wife is a Canadian citizen and we both have been living in the US for the last 10 years. We do not have an immediate plan for moving to Canada but looking at the PR processing time, I am thinking of getting my PR through her sponsorship. I was wondering If I could somehow also apply for my parents (her in-laws) concurrently if there is an option. Can we even apply for parents' PR living both outside Canada?

Thank you for detailed video. Quick question though: We will be sponsoring both my parents. We got married in 2020, my wife was already in Canada since 2015. So, total family size: 4. If we combine both of our income (co-sign) then we duly meet MNI requirements, for past 3 years. Now to calculate MNI for 2018, 2019 (when we were unmarried), do I consider only my income against MNI (for the family size of 3)?

Yes you were only a family size of four when you were married. For the years that you were not married, you cannot use cosigner income of your wife. You will have to use your own income. You can use your wife’s income for 2020, as long as she also has proof of Canadian income for previous three taxation years(as per the cosigner income requirements) More on this coming tomorrow. Thanks for the very informative video. My spouse is not a co-sponsor and he is also not my dependent (because her earns his own income). Should I still have to count him in Question 6 of IMM 5768. My gross income is just over the the requirement out lined for 4 people in 2018, the rest of the years are okay.

You can fill out a web form in their page. Go to section sponsor your parents after you apply and find that web form. Let them know change in status. Also include letter of explanation if possible

Hello In 2018 : we are family of 2 2019 and 2020: family of 3 Sponsoring parents. However income met for fMily size of 5 in 2019 and 2020 .but I met 4 people fMily income in 2018. Eventually we were only 2 in 2020 .am I eligible? If yes how can I proceed with application? Please advise

Technically, you dont qualify if income was less than required in 2018. There is no explanation to provide. You can use co-signer.

I think the below could apply to you. So, if she was 19 in 2018 - She was dependent. size 4. 20 in 2019 - She was dependent. size 4. 21 in 2020 - She was dependent. size 4. I could be wrong. So, double check the dependent and family size instructions page to verify.

Just have a question about (spouse; cosigner) name on imm 1344 She changed her last name after we married so all her driver id and t4 showing married last name(we are in alberta). But passport still her original names. Do I need send explaination letter for that ?

i think you should be fine. Just write a short note at the end of the application, label it ‘co-signer name explanation letter for 1344’ and upload it in the letter of explanation section under the Documents section in the online portal. And since you are providing T4 slips, drivers license(government documents), you should be good. To be safe, you can also include marriage certificate, not totally necessary but always safe to provide more proof.
