I'm portuguese and I watch football atentively. Knowing Ruben's work and looking at the Utd roster it strikes me as more likely that he'll try to adapt Rashford to left wingback. He's got the right side well covered with Dalot and Mazraoui. (It wouldn't surprise me that he'd try to sign Porro, from Tottenham, in the summer, somehow; considering Mazraoui can also play on the left) I think Bruno will play in the middle with Ugarte for starter. Mainoo may perhaps, in the medium run, steal the position of Ugarte. Mount is pretty much perfectly suited to be the SA on the left (like Pedro Gonçalves at Sporting). Diallo may be the best for the right. CFs are a bit below par, at the moment. He'll have to try to improve them... Who I think may suffer the most in the first few months is Garnacho, since he's seems to me a typical right footed left winger, who likes to play wide, to engage in one on one situations with the opposing Rb. And that position - assuming Amorim will indeed try and implement the 3x4x3 formation (and one should only think that, because he's played that way ever since 2019) - does not exacltly exist in this formation; and even if for mere 15 meters or so that guy is more infield, the actions required, the whole dynamic of the ball passing etc. is much diferent...

The former president, in reality a Porto mole within Benfica, didn't rest until he kicked him out of the club (he started his managerial career in the Benfica youth program). The whole of England knows it’s Manchester United’s players that aren’t good enough, yet when Amorim goes in and inevitably has a few struggles. It will be “this is the Premier League”, “this isn’t Portugal, he needs to change his style of play”. Once he clears out that dressing room of Ten Hag’s banter signings and players like Rashford, Shaw, Maguire…he should go on to do great things. But the English press will not give him the time I don’t think. They make so much money through content of United failing and Coach’s being harassed. I hope he’s ready for it. It’s evident these boys at Sporting are willing to run the yard yards and graft, United’s players have a history of not wanting to work hard. We've been here before with EtH, doesnt matter who the manager is the clubs rotten at its core and still has several players from the Rangnick team (that needed 'open heart surgery') that need to go. We can sit here and mock and make EtH the scapegoat for results and players brought in but the fact is he won two trophies in two seasons (one of which decimated with injuries) with a recruitment team and structure supporting him not adequate, who bought players for crazy fees that he didnt set, yet it was all his fault according to the idiotic. The club seems much better today it terms of structure, but the players and squad still isnt up to scratch, especially not suited for Amorims 343 (including 3CBs due to leave this Summer on free's), with FFP restrictions on transfers in the upcoming windows (FYI we wont sign Gyokores). Amorim is in for a tough job, especially with the dishonest way the English media acts, and the low intelligence of the English football fan.

This guy can make Old Trafford become great again. Sometimes it is not about skill or talent. Sometimes it is more like team work and motivation

I'm the type of fan who loves seeing beautiful football. I'm a City fan and every time Gyokeres got the ball I was excited by the threat he poses. He's so good. Quenda was also so good 🤌🏾🥶👏🏾

I love how he was honest at the end, “ 3:07 we will start from a low level”. He’s acknowledging the issue from the heart. Whereas when ETH was saying the same thing it sounded robotic. No emotion. Ruben has the emotion/passion and belief

Hahaha don't know how the players would take that, I can see rashy and maguire saying to themselves "who is he calling low level?"

I'm not a Sporting Club Portugal supporter, but he was a very good football player and as a manager has been incredibly strong an organized in his methods. Farewell from a FC Porto fan! All the best! FORÇA 🇵🇹

If the Man Utd players dont buy into him, they have to be released. Fudge the players. Man Utd have to adapt to him. Give Amorim whatever he wants.

I feel bad for Ruben because he is doing well in the champions league and suddenly he had to leave sporting to manage man Utd, he leaves the champions league and now manages Europa league

United although in a deep rooted crisis is a much better prospect than Sporting , which is why he must have found it difficult to refuse the opportunity. He has a very tough job in his hand though. Hopefully he succeeds in United. 🥲

If the result was in the reverse we would not hear the end of it. I like the way he maneuvers questions. His speaking English that the journalists were craving to hear.
