Incomparable - 508mm Super Repulse

Just picked up the Incomparable today and have been testing this ship in Ranked. It very much feels like a super-sized Repulse, the 508mm guns perform extremely well and at the end of the match I had a pretty damn impressive over 50% accuracy. Not something many BBs can do.

Steel ships are great for being unique and niche. This ship really fulfills that role well, and I enjoy mine a lot, despite not being very good in it lol. Fun battle cruiser design concept.

This is the main reason why Shikishima is a bad steel ship and no one should get her unless they already have all the ones that interest them at all. She's just a Yamuat with novelty guns. Stalingrad is a behemoth of a cuiser with guns like no other, and great survivability and utility. Bourgogne is a fierce fast BB that literally punches way beyond her caliber. Ragnar is the best DD hunter and all purpose long range farmer DD that any resource can offer. Even Plymouth and Austin have their own unique playstyles. And of course Incomparable lives up to her name, like you explained. All steel ships are worth admiring and grinding for, except Shikisima, which is basically just a statement saying "I'm better than you because I can play a ship that's just a worse version of Yamato because I had the resources to waste on her".

I love the concept of ships like Incomparable, Repulse and Georgia. Fairly squishy with few big guns with good accuracy (at least most of the time) and great speed. Didn't manage to get Georgia before she got removed from the shop but I'm definitely going to get Incomparable, even if it means suffering through Ranked.

georgia aim is by far the most random of those 3, I had battles when I wanted to alt + f4 when the shells went everywhere but the lenin citadel at 6 km, also de secondaties cant pen anything but have a good fire chance

At the end of the road gun caliber larger than 460 doesnt matter since all ships are balanced by 32mm armor and if i remember only Fuso has 35mm deck so no real benefits with 35mm overmatch.

The audio clip "This is fucking animal research" has never been more true than my teammates lately. Doin like yours constantly, training down the 1 or 10 line while theres maybe 1 ship there, ignoring the caps, and ending the game on time with 80% of their hp left and done 15k dmg.

2:49 AP bounces have always been able to do damage, even from way back when the game was still young, and this is especially true if the shell that bounced was a very heavy and high caliber one

my build for the ship involves running super heavy AP. My stats with her are decent so far and from your build I dropped priority and expert loader to keep both the extra heal and FPE. I've gotta say 21k nukes do feel really good.

I know you end up super vulnerable to fires with your already reduced HP pool but I can imagine a Furious+Super Heavy AP build being a little viable. You can be pretty immune to the HE spam and fires by just running Repair Party while brawling with stupid fast reload from Furious and when you win pop DC to preserve the rest of your health for later.

Not really questionable, it's a basic thing. Steel is hard to get, so you want the ships for it to be extremely interesting to justify the grind.

You don't gain anything from any caliber above 460MM. 508 and 510MM guns are just higher alpha really, 460MM already over matches 32MM and no higher threshold really exists worth mentioning.

While getting better may be hard, there isn't much to learn. You should have learned aiming and minimap awareness already, next big step is positioning on map. Flamu did a lot of guides during all this years but they get buried under highlights and other stuff. Look for vids with "positioning" and "replay analysis" in title on his channel.

I have super heavy AP on my Incomparable. No fire prevention and no basic survivability. This thing survive solely rely on its concealment and super heal. The super heal is so huge, you cannot use all of them unless you take fire of flood damage. And with the concealment of this thing, you can just go dark if you want. The fire burns for 60 second on mine but who cares🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. I either go dark and use my damage con, or just heal all the fire damage back with the super heal. Also, I use the special UK commander. So if I got 2 kills (which I get very often), I will get one extra heal and all other consumables. Just let the fires burn!🤣 Also, the CVs don’t chase me that much, because I would just run back and maneuver whatever I want.

theyre god awful range is the issue. they have the bad conceal but hard hitting guns to play like khab or kleb but its impossible to do with an 8.5km base gun range which forces dd knife fights where it'll probably get torped

Actually, Hood has almost the same displacement as the Incomparable design (~46k long tons as per Wikipedia). Incomparable was so huge in size in order to fit enough Boilers to let the ship be this fast (Fischer designed this thing to have top speed of 35 knots and to achieved that ship was capable of outputting 180k shaft horsepower, 36k more than Hood)

the fact it has heavier shells than shiki is believable since the British made a 457mm gun during WW1 that fired heavier shells than yamatos 460s albeit with a much shorter maximum range and a design like this a fully logical next step from the repulse design and looks much more believable than some of the actual proposed 9 gun 16 inch battlecruiser designs drawn up by British engineers like G3.
