Fishing gear is understood as the set of techniques and methods that humans use to capture fishing species. The gears used in coastal areas not far from the coast, in inshore and inland fisheries, are known as artisanal or minor arts. Gear used in fisheries conducted in external waters, and especially in deep-sea fisheries, are identified as industrial gear. Fishing system in which a boat surrounds a school of fish with a large net, which then closes underneath, encircling and trapping the fish inside. It is an art used to fish pelagic species forming dense banks, such as sardines, anchovies or anchovies, mackerel or tuna. There are two different groups of purse seines, depending on whether or not they have a closure system at the bottom called a purse.
