I started using this method after seeing this video and it changed my life. I am so organized it's ridiculous. I no longer have that constant dread of "what am I missing??" Thanks so much!

I reviewed several KZbin videos on using Outlook and One Note for GTD, and this one made the most sense to me. I liked that you told us the time versus showing us how to build a clock! Nice job, and thank you.

Why are my tasks not showing in the calendar like yours are?
@rufatelshan16567 жыл бұрын
Thank you both! Thats a great video. Just one question from here. When I mark a task as an outlook task in one note, outlook creates a task with the full link to the note in one note. Is there a way to remake this long link into an icon, as shown in your video (6:23)? I am using Office 16 on Windows 10.

You mentioned that the "Capture" tab is for temp storage, what do you do with the email in "onenote" when you finish breaking it down? Do you store all email in one note or are some stored in Outlook, or does it only depend on the projects and categories

Hey! I'm wondering if Outlook is capable of creating a queue for an email? I'm managing a team of 10 folks, and they are working on a single email(distribution list) but some of them are cherry picking some emails that are much easier to others.. so is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I have a question, I am sorry if it is kind of dumb. Why do you use an @ before the categories? is there a purpose why?

My Onenote layout no longer looks like this, is this an update or is there a way to return it to this setup?
@MsKAYOMO3 жыл бұрын
Great tips.. I would recommend adding the email to create a new task directly. Then add steps you have from to-do. Managing from to- do is much easier than from OneNote.

Outlook has a very good task management function, just use it forget one note for this sort of stiff.

Archive process is also a good move to keep the size of Outlook PST file in the smaller form. It also helps to reduce the risk of damage in PST file due to the violation of predefined size limit.

Very interesting info. Though on a Mac for many years I used Outlook, yet not aware of its integration with Outlook. Now moving to Windows this is quite good information. Question: Why do guys wear their hats backwards? With the hat backwards goofy things happen, 1. Half circle tan on forehead; ugly. 2. Is the guy is a Bubba "not-right-bright" he does not know the bill goes in the front? 3. First impression is absolutely not good. Wearing it backwards does not help their appearance, nor creates confidence in them.

Informative. Very helpful to learn how to connect OneNote with Outlook tasks and calendar. As a suggestion, you would get more hits and help more people if you mentioned the GTD system in the title of the video (if you're legally allowed to do that). I have been searching and searching for the best way to set up GTD in OneNote, and this video was low on the results. I also refrained from watching it because it didn't seem to address what I was searching for. This video was helpful. It would be great if you guys made a video tutorial about how to set up OneNote for GTD as well!

I have never understood the purpose of OneNote .. I would try to play with it and would stop using it in a couple days. This is the first time ANYONE has actually been able to tell me what it is for in a practical way. I only have Outlook.com as my MS-Office is the student/home version, but I'm going to poke around the OneNote it has to see how similar it is.

Why not just drag the email to the task icon at the bottom? This creates the task automatically with the email embedded in it. you can then skip the OneNote step...

follow-up; many steps sound like a question (ending on up-pitch) it's distracting. Human nature is to process a question when you hear that "lilt". I stop listening to you and ask myself "what was the question?" because I wasn't expecting interaction - learn to use precision of language and motion. Instruct, not demonstrate. EDITED: I really want to help you, help me! (lol) I had no idea where we were going with this, until it already happened. Remember, I'm hearing this for the very first time. I would start with a quick white-board chart; incoming email, copy to one note so we can add organization information, then add these organization steps to outlook calendar tasks.Explain what you're going to do, then show me how to do it in as few words and steps as possible. Most can get the idea (no need to tell me i can set up unlimited tabs, or set up unlimited categories or category colors...blah blah blah) Thanks guys, i'm really glad you took the time to do this...just let me help you do it well. :-)
