Great video providing a methodology for recording backtesting data. I personally use the ASH (Absolute Strength Histogram) and Aroon Up & Down (Period 4) as my confirmation indicators. I am looking forward to the rest of the videos in this strategy-testing series. Thanks for the relevant content.

One of your best videos if not the most useful for me, thanks! You also answered a question regarding the trailing stop I did not know to ask since I thought it might have been obvious to everyone except myself.

We don't always get to all the questions but we try....It also helps others when you ask, so be bold and brave and ask those questions.

Nice one Tim. I bet you were involved in some kind of teaching (formal /informal) before you became a trader. You know how to deliver potentially complex subject with easy and humour. you have taught us triangles and what to look out for. (ascending, descending and symmetrical) but i haven't seen you trade or mention anything on expanding triangle patterns. Do you trade them or you don't find them profitable ? if you do, can we please have a quick video on this? can you also talk about FX News and what you do during an high impact news for Forex? Thanks.

Yes there are flaws in MT4 testrobot. Never use it in weekend unless you really know what you are doing. Also it is possible to test for enourmous amounts of data, but in reality it only test on very few data and it does not tell that. But still, I believe that when you know it then it is useable. I am very keen to hear Tim's experiences. I might change my mind on MT4 testrobot then.

Hi Tim , I am on the process of collecting all the indicators based on some criteria ( for example, zero-cross indicators etc) , , could you please name some of the indicators you have had and still using them as a first confirmations and second confirmations for your trade entry? I really like your exit strategy and i would like some specific ( just like exit indicators) indicators from you for my trade entry please. By the way I am using your 20 ema as my baseline. Also do you recommend any other volume indicators for forex except the the volume you are using? Your suggestions would be apreciated highly apreciated. Thanks in advance

One question I forgot to ask. I see the logic behind the 1.5 times the ATR but was wondering what your thoughts were on a 3 times ATR as a stop for slightly longer long positions? The reason I ask is that the strategy I'm currently testing seems to to make more wining trades but wonder if in the long term it might lose me more?

That's a great question It can definitely work run some tests and see which works better.

Your maxim today is wow, I know that I am still learning but frankly it gives me a lot of confusion, anyhow, what I got today that there are lucky traders and some are not, unfortunately, the majority of traders are unlucky and losing money, is this right, I know that the market maker consists of 6 big banks and hedge funds institutes and are cooperating together against individual traders (the dumb money) and contrary because each of them has a market share so, they are competing for each other as well, I know it is very complicated relations, my question is do you think that they are doing the right things but they lose money same as us? or they never lose because they know all information such as buyers/sellers traders position ratio and volume each which allow them to direct the market to opposite direction for enlarging their profits, so, FOREX market looks like a game of market maker certainty as they know and create the future against the traders probability, and all traders must accept this rule as it is a part of veiled deal for letting us as a traders to get inside the game and swim with them in the pool. Is this what you meant. Thank you.

I think your missing the point of it. There is no such thing as luck its all about probability. You need to play the probabilities and let your trades run to winners.
