The air conditioning set-up is awesome. I would add one modification: a USB clip-on fan to hang in front of the vent. This mod would really improve the air circulation with little cost or power usage.

Lol, oh man. No joke. I had the same idea to hide compartments like that in the walls. Just hadn’t worked out how to camouflage it and keep it looking normal. Glad to see someone else had the idea and ran with it.

next level stuff here. It would have been cool if ambient lights were installed behind the poplar ribs. I would have liked to see what kind of removable shelves or storage could hang on the ribs, and where they would be stored. The built in cabinets with mirror and storage are brilliant, and hanging the tablet is great. In a few years, these vans will come in electric version, so all the custom electric work will not be necessary. The market also needs more tiny-A/C options for very small living space -- with e-vans in the future we'll just use the vehicle's A/C.

Lights behind the slats on the walls wouldn't really bounce out off the black cloth so would likely be a waste of time. Bouncing the light off the wood is what gives the warmth.

The standard temperature drop for a regular in home air conditioning unit is 20° maximum. I am super impressed with this in Van air conditioner! I'd love to hear more about how the solar panels / batteries work to provide AC all night long.

I’ve seen a lot of vans..and by far this is the coolest van I’ve seen in my opinion, and what I would want to travel in. I love how minimal and simple it is and you are Not sacrificing anything as far as your absolute needs, but it’s all hidden like little gems. I was in awe throughout the entire tour. That air con was like woah! 👌Absolutely stunning van!! 🥰👌

Love this van. I love that he has an air conditioner. Being from Alabama, it always is mind boggling when people only add heaters and never AC. In Alabama, u would def need both it gets way cold and way hot here.

In the Pacific Northwest it will rain. It’ll probably be cold for a little bit. It’ll rain. It’ll probably be hot (80+) for a little bit. It’ll rain and rain. If doing all year, a heater is priority.

This has to be a fake comment... did you see the cheaply made cabinets wrapped in leatherette that he cut with his $19;99 mercedes benz Nail clippers and then stapled over to the not very japanesse pieces of home depot plywood that lacked perfect symmetry and also lacked the very basics of japanese woodmanship and craftamanship at every single joint.

Its a zero breeze. Has to be vented out. Runs about $1000. Can run on its own battery or shore power/ or power inverter (I think). Never used one just researched. Basically only cools what it blows on not the room.

That was SWEET! I know it's "illegal" to have hidden compartments on an auto, but I would like to see a safe that is somehow integrated in the frame under the van, engine compartment or behind a tail light so access can be from outside for keys, etc... when out on a hike. I would also like to have a rear hand crank slide out. At over 6 ft I have a hard time designing a bed to fit but don't want a longer rig.

is there a finish on the poplar slats? Totally cool van btw, I love his @3:16 - 3:31 "minimize clutter" philosophy! Most of his day-to-day utilities and functional equipment are hidden. So frickin' beast! You've taught me so much for my van build. Even the wooden handles seem to disappear into the slats. The cool thing about this setup for cooling is that he has a "2-part system" : - MaxAir fan with side vents: creates a great cross breeze when it is low humidity outside. - ZeroBreeze when he needs a quick on demand 'direct' personal cooling system like when he sleeps. Plus, can have them both on at same time with 24 volts DC on the ZB and MaxAir fan on DC w/ vents, it's still very efficient.

Yeah I did this conversion in one day I bought a clapped out van and superglued my bed slats to the inside job done
