VERY promising piece, loving the way its shaping up. The Node Control feature is FANTASTIC!!

I agree, it's incredibly helpful. Thanks very much for watching the video 🙂

The pose control looks like it could be game changing. I agree with your points about gaze control. They seem so close.
@HaydnRushworth-FilmmakerКүн бұрын
Ooooohhhh, absolutely. Gaze control would be huge. At the moment it’s only really possible (with any consistency) with video to video tools. I’m planning a review of Runway’s latest video to video… absolutely incredible.

Simply incredible Haydn! I have over 20 finished scripts, with two undergoing some doctoring. The Katalist software is moving closer to my dream of A.I. being utilized as a high-end script doctoring tool. I am in the process of testing several A.I. writing tools such as Plotdot, Novel Crafter, ChatGPT, and Claude 3.5 Sonet. Thanks so much for the video Good Sir!

Hey, Johnny, thanks very much. I think we’re all dreaming of a stable and capable AI tool that will let us carry the project from start to finish. I’d say Katalist is definitely heading in the right direction to become that kind of tool.

Fantastic tool! The price is very expensive for nonprofessional users. But… It is an awesome tool
@HaydnRushworth-FilmmakerКүн бұрын
I agree entirely, they’re definitely aiming to create a professional grade tool for a professional market.

The tool shows promise but like most A I if it can't do what you want it to do, it is useless. These companies keep putting out half way working tools and expect us to pay for them. Not in this lifetime I say.

I’m with you 100%. A professional tool needs to work reliably or you can’t confidently use it to make and keep professional commitments. These guys (and other AI companies like LTX Studio) face a huge dilemma… Pereto’s 80/20 rule. This states that 80% of the work will take 20% of the time (and resources, and budget), and that the remaining 20% of the work will chew up 80% of the time (and resources, and budget). For companies like Katalist, this means they can bring a product to market that is 80% complete, but the costs and effort to bring it that far will only be 20% of the costs necessary to launch a 100% product. So, now, they face the difficult dilemma of putting all of their resources into completing the product as it is, and taking years to do it (if it took 1 year to get this far, they’ll need another 4 to do the remaining 20%), or they try to keep up with competitors, new tech breakthroughs and customer demand by putting their resources into launching more features as fast as possible, but those features will also be only 80% complete. And so on, and so on. At some point, Katalist (and LTX Studio, one of their key competitors who also have an 80% complete product) are going to have to bite the bullet and go for a loooong period of completing their tools whilst appearing to be making no progress to their potential customers.

Agreed, but I can’t deny the quality work that some YT channels are showcasing with what are essentially pitch decks of material. It’s only a (very short) matter of time until we hear one of these channel’s individuals or teams being hired for a film’s preproduction. Essentially it’s an investment in yourself to pick up the skill set.

20 frames might be good for storyboarding a scene, rather than a script. Although, as it stands, it might be useful for pitch decks. - Can you add directorial suggestions? i.e. Low angle, overhead shot, 24mm lens, dutch angle, deep focus, etc.
@JohnnyStroud3 күн бұрын
So right. Right now, I use ChatGPT to create my pitch deck and Bible slides.
@HaydnRushworth-FilmmakerКүн бұрын
Really good question… I’m going to look into that. Not sure at the moment.

Thanks for the heads up. I tried it. They give you a seven day trial but you gotta give them a bunch of stuff and pick a billing option and I wasn't down for any of that so I bailed. But it seems like it could be interesting someday with a better business model.
@HaydnRushworth-Filmmaker6 күн бұрын
It’s still early days, and I agree with you, eventually, with time, new developments and the right level of competition, business models will emerge that work better for everyone.

How does this compare to LTX Studio and their storyboarding AI tools? Or Mootion?
@HaydnRushworth-FilmmakerКүн бұрын
Don’t know about Mootion, but LTX Studio definitely seems to be the closest competitor to Katalist. I’d say they have different strengths at the moment. I’m planning a comparison video of the two, plus a couple of others, so watch this space 😁
