Sir, how does the age of the leaf affect potency of tea or other ingestible concoctions?
@myislandjamaica19 күн бұрын
Yes! The age of the guava leaf can influence its potency when used in tea or other ingestible concoctions. Generally, younger leaves tend to be more potent because they have higher concentrations of active compounds like tannins, flavonoids, and antioxidants. These compounds can decrease as the leaf ages. So, for stronger medicinal effects, it’s often better to use younger, fresher leaves. However, older leaves can still provide benefits, just possibly at a reduced potency.

Can the leaves just be picked and boiled ? Or does it have to be dried ?
@myislandjamaica16 күн бұрын
Great question! You can actually use guava leaves both fresh or dried to make tea. If you’re using fresh leaves, just rinse them off, then boil them in water for about 10-15 minutes. If you prefer dried leaves, the process is similar, just boil them in water. Drying the leaves can sometimes concentrate the beneficial compounds, but either way works well. The important thing is to enjoy the natural goodness of guava leaves! Thanks for watching!
