My question is, who has such issues that this video gets 25 thumbs down? A man and his great family camping. He never tried to sell anyone anything and was excellent at leaving no trace.

Awesome campsite in a beautiful area! Definitely a spot I'll have to visit on future adventures. And a cool little arch, too. I liked the drone footage of flying between the rock formations. Great job!
@homesteadonomics4 жыл бұрын
SUV RVing thanks Tristan! It’s not as impressive as many of the arches you’ve seen....but a pretty neat little surprise in this area. Looks like it was a natural crack and then the bottom section just fractured off to make the arch. Not like the arches national park ones. And the drone footage....that is compliments to this guy I met a while back that has been putting great drone work in his videos😉. I’ve had it for like 3-4 years and just hardly used it...always afraid to crash it. So I think it finally reached that point where I’m not afraid to use it...haha.... and I subconsciously might want an excuse to get one like yours😉👍 Oh yeah....just saw you posted the hike video. The family and I will be watching it later today!

You have some beautiful landscapes in Arizona. Glad to see you are able to get out for family time. Here in Oregon nothing is opened. All recreational land is closed. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week and stay safe!
@homesteadonomics4 жыл бұрын
peter debad we sure do! Thank you! Sorry to hear they have closed all recreational land in Oregon. I understand developed camp grounds where camp sites are very close together. Those are closed here in AZ too. But dispersed camping in open areas is totally okay. I even checked on BLM’s site and they have the great majority of their land for primitive camping still open. I’m guessing it’s a state thing for you guys. We were able to go here from our house and didn’t need to stop for anything (no gas, brought food from home, etc). The only contact with another person, was the rancher who let us through their gate to access the blm and state land. And that was all at a distance. So we were able to leave home, camp for a couple days and return home without ever having made any contact with others. About the perfect scenario for camping during this time or any other time in my opinion (I don’t like camping in campgounds😂) Of course we would have enjoyed having some of our other family or friends there too.....but that’ll just have to wait until the current events slow down a bit. Take care and stay safe😀👍

Great video, 20 something years ago we used to travel in a VW bus, Had the same "problem" with the shower/ potty, (We have 2 girls and two boys). I solved it very easy with a camping shower tent I bought in Katy Mills (near Houston). Self suporting, easy and fast, small bag when folded, We fastened to the Awning tubes for windy days. Was a great and inexpensive for the Porta potty and to shower, We used a "black bag" to heat the water... Now I stil camp, sameVW bus no kids... They are adults now :-( Thank you for the great memories...

Very beautiful! Eye candy and leg and lung candy for you guys! The Mojave is really interesting and beautiful also with rocks, much life (I once got within 5' of a wild burrow. I just stood up and said Hi and he looked me over, then just leisurely sauntered off. :) Indian sites and arrowheads. In the spring it is a paradise with green grass, much life in evidence and perfect temperatures. I don't think I'd want to visit either place in July though! Again, really, really beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing!

@3Sphere4 жыл бұрын
@@homesteadonomics Yeah, If you love desert, you should go sometime. Many campgrounds, usually empty. Great walkin' country. No gates to go through- mostly all public land. It looks more like where you parked the camper. Big clusters of boulders the size of houses and lots of open country, intriguing canyons, big flat mesas and once you're there for a couple of days you start to appreciate how much life there is. To me, it's a very magical place... I once stumbled upon a big dished out crater on the top of a hill that was chock-full of rabbits having some kind of meeting! It was like landing right in the middle of Watership Down. Very strange... Many other strange things too... Oh, in the high desert there are juniper forests too and it can be pretty cold there. We perfected the art of driving a couple of tent stakes then sprinting back to the running car and cramming our hands into the heater! :) The silence is deafening too. (When we shut up :) I once was hiking along the vertical face of a mesa top maybe 12' below the flat surface above along the huge rock that periodically sheds off the side and I touched a probably 20 ton boulder that was balanced on a dime. The devil visited me then. My friends were walking down in the valley away from the base and maybe a thousand yards ahead........ so....... I gave it just a little, bitty, tiny shove. LoL... The sound that boulder made when it hit that slope and careened down the mesa base was so epic that to this day it is still the most dramatic sound I have ever heard. (and felt!) Of course my friends whirled around instantly with whole, entire body shock. Heh. They were shaken to the core (literally) and thought I was dead. That's how I knew they really loved me..... LoL.... Epic, just epic... Thanks again for the footage of your trip! I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Thank you for the great videos. Two questions, the landowner they gave you access, I’m assuming that they unlock the gate and then you drove in and they lock the gate behind you, so the question is what would happen if there was an emergency? How could you get out quickly? Secondly, have you considered making those hitch cove locks and selling them online…?
@homesteadonomics4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Oscar! The land owner gave us a lock combination to be able to exit. She said they change it somewhat regularly. Since there is blm and state land on the other aide of their slice of land I don’t think they can completely eliminate access...but I think that gate is there to dissuade the casual visitors, and unfortunately also the people who sometimes vandalize rocks and that sort of thing. They were very nice and just want to make sure the folks crossing their land have recreation permits and are known about. Also, I believe there is a way to access that land from another road that not locked and via state trust land or blm land...but it’s a miles long adventure from a different area and I wouldn’t have wanted to take the trailer down the other path😉

What a great place for a hike, and a perfect camp site.
