You have some serious antiques and collectables up there. Saw what looked to be an evenining bag style powder compact a turquoise suede/shagreen at 12.25. Vintage collectors would go mad for. It would be brilliant if you coud find out who the items belonged to. Look forward to seeing what lies beyond the ceiling.

I'm thinking... it might be a good idea to journal all your attic finds & where you use/restore them in the future. Should you also get more history on this historic place ~ journal that as well. It may very well add to a long history + help those whom may follow after you. God speed! Love what you are doing

You can shop your own castle with that amazing storage in the attic. Some fantastic finds there. Hehe, maybe we can play a little game and see whether we see any of those items pop up over time in your renovated spaces. (There is one thing I have already spotted in a new place - the gorgeous sconce with the sunburst, which is now in the treatment room toilet.) Hope your kitchen build is progressing swiftly so that you can finally move into your private apartment space!

You are such a lovely couple. I am always pleased to listen to the story of the week. Take care of yourself. Take the time to rest and have some fun activities. We are renovating a part of our house and each part of our selection (ceramics, armoire, etc.) are not coming at the same time... Since two months we are tired to see everything «up side down», the boxes and all the dust... So, do not rush and take the time to laugh together :) When you see you are tired, my trick is to say to my husband «Time out». I hope you are going to save the beauty of this little Chapel. Wishing you the best, From Canada

Sauna in the Cellar? Torture Chamber? Sorry it is so hot here and my Air Conditioning is not working. I love the attic treasures. Clothing should be wrapped in acid free paper and packing into acid free boxes to preserve them, depending on the age of the clothing more may need to be done. Julie, Viscountess Hinchingbrook from Mapperton is having some garments preserved, some repaired, and others will be put on display for guests to see, when they visit (Coronation Robes). I bet she would love to come and visit your Chateau, she has a channel American Viscountess and she tours many Castles helping to bring visitors to them. She is also a Yoga Master and runs retreats - she would be a wonderful source of information and inspiration for your new life in a Castle. She just finished restoring the library (armament room) in their castle. Her Father-in-law is a member of the House of Lords in England. Her Husband, Viscount Hinchinbrook is heir to the Earl of Sandwich Title. They are a lovely down to earth family and such a wealth of information - I'm sure they would love to share any knowledge they have in preservation of antiques or to put you in touch with experts that do.

Omg, you must have felt so thrilled to see that little peak of the chapel ceiling - I know I did😀. Wow, can’t wait for that 80’s ceiling to come down and reveal the sleeping beauty beyond. How cool to have your attic full of treasures. With all the history of the buildings, the contents, the people who have lived there over the centuries, I feel like you could offer enchanting guided tours. My husband and I recently stayed at Larnach Castle in Dunedin, NZ. We were treated to luxury accommodation, a pre dinner aperitif and appetiser, an introductory overview of the castle of when, how and why it was built. We were led to the dining hall, where its history as a music room was explained. After a delicious four course, chef’s choice meal, we were treated to a tour of some of the other main rooms on the floor. We were fortunate that night to have a guide who was a gifted and compelling story teller. She brought the castle history to life in each of those rooms. The next day we independently explored the rest of the castle, the beautiful gardens and picked out some memento’s from the well stocked gift shop. Dare I say it, but the depth of history you now live with is on a next level. If the history is curated and presented in a sensitive and engaging way then your legacy becomes one of educating not just merely staying a night at a castle. That’s what I’m enjoying about your videos, you are exploring and treasuring the history that’s there and you’re curious about what to do with it. Much love DW (Niecee from NZ😊)

I watched your exploration of the attic finds. I especially like the flowers framed, could not tell if they were real. As you opened some of the boxes it made me think of wedding gifts never used, with the stickers still on the glass ware. I am so glad you stated that you wanted all the furnishings left, and retain the historic items. I sat with baited breath, waiting to see if the original chapel ceiling is there. From the photograph you showed the chapel ceiling is similar to the Lalonde chapel, from 'The Chateau Diaries' that is currently being completely restored. The little sneak peak appears to show that it may be still there. I look forward to your further renovations and explorations of your new home. Saskatchewan, Canada

It would be interesting to know the identity of past owners of the Chateau. I just recently discovered I have distant French Canadian ancestry & Filles du Roi.
