It's more classy to display it while in the ring. Meaning the showboating was some grade school mentality. I'd never disrespect an opponent that honours me with the fight. Two warriors showing respect to each other and the art/game. But, yes it was nice to see the learned respect expressed there in the ring rather than a week or two down the line. I really thought Barnett was done after the second knockdown. His eyes didn’t look like they were focusing. Those shots hit his head but never touched his heart. That’s a kind of resilience that is difficult to train.

I should have specified that I was talking about America where bare knuckle fighting has traditionally been viewed as a very underground fringe sport. Those old Kimbo Slice videos were sort of how America discovered bare knuckle boxing.

It’s super hard to land sq on guys like Bedford. He’s constantly dropping his forehead down so the punches are landing on the hardest part of his head.
