Looked up the umbrella, there's a lot of contradictory info as to whether it's actually bulletproof or not. And contrary to what this video says, is apparently for sale to whoever can afford it, but is very expensive at $20k. I imagine that someone could make one almost as good for a lot less than that. In conjunction with thinner "executive" body armor it isn't a bad idea.

Some Shit just Doesn't need inventing, a Chopping Board or your Laptop will stop a knife. Each&everysinglefukcingone of these is Illegal somewhere, especially in the UK, so "Legal to Carry" depends on where you are in the world. The Whip is Shite, & for almost all of these Training to use them is Essential, most people think having them is enough, it's Not, & a Home Invasion is Up Close & Very Personal, definitely Not for the faint of heart. The Best Thing you can do to protect yourself is to learn how to fight with something you can have with you at All times, you Don't need to spend a Fortune on Shite, you can reach Internal Organs with a Chopstick, you can take an Eye with a Paperclip, Ruptur a Spleen with a Rolled Up magazine, you can do so much with something so innocuous Nobody will see it as a weapon, including the local Police Farce, save your money & learn to fight.

@@onieyoh9478 If we consider in the context of this video (gadgets for self-defense), then these are countries where you can legally buy firearms without unnecessary problems and high financial costs. And in general, there is a right to self-defense as such.

@@I_have_a_tail_and_ears In that spirit I wouldn't consider western nations to be free as they all greatly restrict your ability to own a firearm. Hell, in Australia you need to go through a litany of paperwork just to own a sword.

Why do you say that?
@minhdao47904 ай бұрын
Parapactum: unobtanium, and not even level II protection. Glassbreaker gun: thick clothes drastically cut down the effectiveness. Neck Gaiter: Functionally worthless in a combat scenario. If you're going to get stabbed, it's center mass. Also, garrotes laugh at your puny neck protection. Gun in a baton: part of deterrence is the hostile recognizing the threat. The other part is having lethal force. This product has neither. You're better off off-handing a baton or maglite with a pistol. Pepper spray: "hold on and lemme rummage through my purse/fanny pack for this, get my thumb in the right hole and aim it." That's 3-4 seconds you're scrambling, because if you rely on pepper spray, you probably have not trained or prepared adequately. Folding Brass Knuckle: hello broken fingers. Save your money and use a carabiner instead. Survival pen: if you need to use this, you should have run away instead. Cane whip: concealed cane weapons are explicitly illegal in most places. Use them and you'll probably be more harshly punished than your attacker. Talon knife: too short for practical use, requires much more training than the average person is willing to put in. Chain whip: requires a great deal of training and is, again, not as effective at protecting you as simply running away. Hard knuckle strobe light: the first somewhat practical thing on this list, but I would still prefer a good long maglite. Heavier and better as a weapon. Pepperball gun: 2 year shelf life and expensive ammo? I'd prefer even a .22lr pistol. Carry-on shield: something that light and thin can only be Level II protection at most. Also, airlines generally do not permit you to wear or carry-on body armor. Mag-fed crossbow: a semi-auto pistol is smaller, fires faster, and can be concealed easier. Also, that bow has a 20 rpm rate of fire. That's bolt-action slow. Stealth bag briefcase: the SECOND somewhat practical item. Running away should be your first resort, but this is actually a decent backup option for protection. Tactical wallet: as a self-defense tool, almost completely useless. As a multitool, not completely useless. There are better options available. Keychain gun: first off, it's Russian. Second, it's 4.5 x 26mm, aka Russian .17 HMR, aka a very poor choice of self-defense caliber. Third, something like that is definitely not legal to use. APG arm/shin guards: for the literally edgy wannabe badass. Running away is the best protection. Stun gun w/siren: only the siren is worth anything, and you still have to fumble to retrieve it. Pocket Mace: if you keep it in your pocket, you can discretely retrieve it if your attacker is inexperienced. But it's still a spray, and can be blocked. Another glassbreaker gun: even less concealable than the first one, and still isn't going to stop a determined adversary.

Does any of that matter (besides the illegality part) if you train with any of them?
@minhdao47904 ай бұрын
Training can only do so much. And most of these non-lethal methods rely on the attacker feeling pain. If they're high on meth or PCP, you've just fucked yourself over. The single most important rule of self defense is always have an egress. NEVER back yourself into a corner.
@BrowncoatGofAZ4 ай бұрын

1 how many criminals have intermediate rifles? 2 situational admittedly 3 more for industrial protection than self defense 4 having a concealed weapon is good too though? 5 personally I keep my self-defense tools in easy reach, and I like to have them in hand when I see something I don’t like 6 maybe good points actually 7 this is more for getting out of car wrecks, or stabbing someone who grabbed you from behind so you can escape. 8 still, some will take the legal challenges over death 9 true 10 true 11 easier to carry every day though 12 personal preference there. 13 that’s actually understandable 14 apparently there are situations where crossbows are better. Like keeping explosives from going off 15 full agreement 16 actually I prefer the leatherman in this case 17 probably all true 18 it is, but this might help in a pinch 19 again, keep in easy reach 20 better be quick on the draw 21 better when paired with their pepperball rounds.
