My great grandfather was an officer on one of the royal navy ships which escorted the German fleet from the firth of forth to scapa flow. He then remained in scapa guarding the german fleet for several months but was unfortunately transferred away the week before the scuttling and missed a massive moment in history. You must have heard me shouting at the screen every time you find a 1919 coin that it was when the German fleet was scuttled in Orkney.

Great video Jocky. You are so lucky having such a lovely dog. We lost our dog yesterday, a lovely Border Collie. We had him for 15 years and feel blessed to have had him. Glad you’ve got a new spade. Nice finds and a silver to boot. 👍👍

The odd double hooked bronze item you found... When I first looked at it I thought that it might be some sort of pommel for a weapon, missing some other parts, but now I don't know. I would certainly let the museum have a peep at that one. You are blessed with your fine handsome dog. Both of mine died in the last 3 months. The older Aussie Shepherd was expected, she was 15 and going down for some time. My Wolf dog Hybrid Jojo died unexpectedly in the night and it couldn't feel worse had I lost a close family member.

Loss of outcome friend are heartbreaking .What I told my children at these times is ,know you /we gave them the best lives possible and they loved us as much as they loved us. We will see them again in a better place ..❤

31:47 as a girl growing up I'd see the Navajo ladies on the bus.They used silver coins to make buttons for their Kaibab moccasins and velvet blouses. All decked in silver and turquoise jewelry to sell at pawn shops in Albuquerque and go shopping

The brass half moon item may be half of a water pipe clamp for repairing leaks. Both halves would be clamped over a piece of rubber wrapped around the pipe to stop the leak.

fun fact..1920 3 pence is worth 14.50 lbs today..so not sure what a pint is worth but it will buy you more now than in the day John..and thanks for dropping it..🍻🍻.and 1841 just after on the seal..still watching 👀..and it looks like the top of a staff sir midevile by looks of it..please keep us or me updated on that one..✌🇨🇦

Hello there, I have found my first ever gold hammered today and I am 99% it is a Francis 1st of France 1528. Any ideas as to why this coin would be in a field in south east anglia England? A reply would be amazing and most appreciated. Great videos btw

The coin with two holes could be a spin toy. Cord through the holes and pull at ends of cord making the coin spin. Maybe?

I have seen other detectorists find bag seals and bushings in fields near old linen mills and they have suggested that the bushings were used in the spinning of linen into thread.

Looks to me like those square objects with the circlar center, are hydrolic hose retainers. That is just one half of one. The two halves secure the hose so it does not flop and break.
