built the circuit on a bread board and it works! very simple and easy to make! just make sure your in full sun for it to work! Those LDR's have to have plenty of light to allow one or the other transistor to switch the motor clockwise/counterclockwise etc. also use 9 volt battery, 3.7 volts isnt enough! thanks for showing! 👍

Quite interesting project. However rather than using the LDR is it not possible to use the maximum Output from the Solar panel to provide the data for the position of the panel? Thanks.

This circuit is going to destroy the LDR if the motor draws more than about 40 milliamps, which it most likely will. All the motor current flows through the LDR, which has a maximum power dissipation of about 200 milliwatts- POOF! magic smoke.
