@@ВасилийТёркин-е5ч «чирик» - это десятирублёвая, бумажная купюра, а не монета. «Чирик» - это «червонец». «Червонец» - от слова «червоный». Червоный - красный (др. русское название красного цвета). Раньше, десятирублёвая купюра была красного цвета.

@@bukvarem да, про червонец не стал расписывать, их сейчас в обороте нет, а 10 рублей монетой есть. я примерно такой же душнила как и вы) а еще были 10 рублей монетой при Николае втором. Эта монета была золотой, и название могло идти от туда, червонное золото-червонец. кстати, являюсь обладателем двух таких монет. От деда остались мне в наследство.
