Incredible leopard & hyena interaction

This female leopard was found relaxing in a tree until the sound of vultures on the remains of an impala got her attention. Ntsumi then moved towards the vultures, chasing them off the carcass. It was not long before a hyena came storming in and chased her off the kill. There was a lot of backward and forward chasing done by the leopard and the hyena until Ntsumi finally gave up and the hyena walked off with the prize.

I should have thought that female leopards do not often dispute possession with a hyaena unlike bigger male leopards which frequently do.

@@ashdog236 that’s not true at all without context my boi. A male leopard can most definitely defeat a single hyena. The reason a leopard wouldn’t initiate the fight is because leopards are solo hunters without backup whereas hyenas come in packs. Leopards are elusive by nature and only aggressive when necessary. Hyenas are different. And your wrong again. Lions regularly slap hyenas around in the savanna. A single lioness easily kills a single hyena. And hyenas don’t attack male lions unless they have 10+. Both leopards and Hyenas will usually do everything to avoid lions on even ground.

@@ermiasdunphy9597 stop being delusional, in every video of Hyena VS leopard, the Hyena totally dominates leopard 1v1. Hyenas are the 2nd largest African land predator after Lions so it shouldn’t be shocking that they overpower Leopards. It would scare a Leopard, the fact that whenever he attacks and claws the Hyena, it does nothing, the Hyena never runs away hence the leopard freaks out and runs up a tree.

@@ashdog236 again ur being ignorant . A leopard is not going to risk being in a full fledged fight with a hyena when there very well be others nearby. On top of that if a leopard gets injured and can’t hunt then it starves because it’s solitary . As I say again hyenas come in clans. The reason they are above leopards in the food chain is because they have strength of numbers. The particular video you are talking about was a female leopard and there was a obvious size difference between the two. A male leopard is much larger and is aggressive enough to fend off an attack from a lioness if cornered. CONTEXT . A leopard prolly doesn’t think a conflict with a hyena over food is worth it. Now if you corner a male leopard with nowhere to go and force him to defend himself… that’s a different story. Look up male leopard fends off five lionesses and you will see what I’m talking about.
